A change for FinHeaven? All Premium Members... Opinions NEEDED!

Darin, I like your concept. However, I don't know if that will go over well. Think about it, for one, if you think you're a Premium Member then I come along and say, "Hey wait! There is something we didn't tell you..."

I don't know, it's like we're not being completely honest.

The back side is if we tell everyone there is a three-tier system, and the top most tier is invite only... some may feel that's a slap in the face. However, if we simply say that it's invite only and limited to a certain amount of members... then we're covered. It's basically saying that we're full - thus is why you're not in yet.

The middle level has no limit or capacity. If you want in, pay the $30 a year and get away to your own exclusive forum.

Thoughts?

AJ, this thread and the direction it goes or doesn't go, I think shows that there is more than enough honesty here....We know that your intention is to make sure that we are taken care of first and foremost....if it goes the way I suggested, it would be because we all decided that that would be the best way to do it, not because you tricked us or lied to us. It would be our choice.

I could actually see a point for making thread titles/activities in the mid tier forum visible to the standard/free/entry level forums. Assuming the forum actually has activity, seeing the threads and active conversation might entice people to move up.

You could also in theory move some special threads (examples: Ask Boomer, Ask Brett Tessler) to the mid range forum.

I could actually see a point for making thread titles/activities in the mid tier forum visible to the standard/free/entry level forums. Assuming the forum actually has activity, seeing the threads and active conversation might entice people to move up.

You could also in theory move some special threads (examples: Ask Boomer, Ask Brett Tessler) to the mid range forum.

Then we'd probably get people simply starting identical threads in the free forum and getting the same content for free.

Okay....I've read everything and in the event that I may be far behind in my thinking, ignore my thoughts, if I'm up to speed and you like what I'm thinking then by all means let me know...:)

First of all, this level should not be a level at all...what I mean is, no one should know that there is a third level except those that are in it...I think I speak for everyone when I say that all of us are doing this for the site, not necessarily what we are getting out of it...there isn't a reason to sell us on anything...I would be in this level whether there were more perks or not because keeping this site alive is perk enough for me.....

The second level should be what everyone thinks the premium level is now....talk without the trolls, or on a more inetlligent and real level, should be the number one drawing card..... all the perks like discounts and special contests shoulkd go from these people on up...

I also think $24 a year ......will fill that forum with members...you might even could break it down to $12 for 6 months....

So, two "official" tiers and our "secret" teir (filled with Miami Dolphins players and cheerleaders) and lowering the price just a bit, would be my idea.

InFins, I think this is the best thing I've read in this thread yet.

Alright... the forum has been setup. The usergroup has been setup. The subscription service has been setup.

All I need is for Muck and I to be online at the same time tomorrow night or something so we can roll it out better. Right now it's 4am and I just can't do a post...

However, here are some of my final... not written in stone thoughts...

- The premium forum (Aqua level) shall remain hidden for right now. I think that this area should remain exclusive. If this changes as time goes on, so be it. However, I don't want to allow anyone that can pay $84 in. I think others would agree with me. Perhaps I'm wrong. I mean, half of me thinks that if they have the money... they wouldn't act up, but you never know. This can be changed later, but let me know what you all think.

- I'm going to give every Orange level member a bumper sticker. This costs the site less than $4 and is great advertising. I also think this is a good enough perk.

- The Orange level membership forum shall be visible; however, they won't be able to view threads, etc. In my opinion, by users being able to see that there is a forum there... that they can't access, will make them interested enough. Some people are willing to pay $30 just to see what's behind the door. The Aqua level membership will be in the same format.

- Premium Members will always have more perks. If I offer you guys a discount, it will be a bigger discount. If I have prizes, it will be better prizes. If I have a contest, there will be more of them. I won't focus too much money in the Orange level... however, I want to keep them happy and make them spread the word. Thus, I would perhaps be inclined to give them a 5% discount off to the fan store. You guys have 10%. Let me know what you think about that.
