A classy rival we have...

Mods I realize this is not exactly "Dolphins related", but since it is a division rival of ours and I am making a direct correlation with their organization and ours, as well as the over all lesson to be learned from this article...I ask you keep it in our most populated forum.


A young boy, Sam Berns, age 17 passed away today. He was patriots fan, and I wanted to take this moment to acknowledge the things we say about Pats fans. I have always claimed to hate every Boston fan...no matter who they are. I've said horrible things about their fan base. After learning about this boys story, and seeing what he went through, and also learning about how great and classy of an owner Robert Kraft is...I have a new found respect for their organization. Just like in war when people kill each other over nothing...we as NFL fans have a hatred for other teams fans for reasons that are pretty petty when you think about it.

The main thing is I wanted to point out that Robert Kraft is a great man, as well as Tom Brady. We can hate them for their performance against our beloved Phins...but they truly are class acts and something I think our current QB/owner should aspire to.

***** I highly encourage you guys to research "Life According To Sam"...the HBO documentary about his life. It was an incredible flick and really touched me.

All professional teams are filled with feel good stories and franchise members that volunteer time and money to the local communities. Lets not act like a Pats fan and try and single them out as the lone classy organization in sports.

I hate the Pats. Always have and always will.
 
Ryan Tannehill and his lovely wife are great people as well. They believe philanthropy is of the utmost importance. They give back to their community by giving their time and visiting local children's hospitals. They also donate to several charities.

I've always thought Kraft was a pretty good guy. Very, very business savvy and very charitable. How he bought the Patriots, financed the stadium, and then built up the surrounding areas is amazing to me. There used to be just a crap hole stadium there and now there are shopping centers, a movie theatre, and a hospital less than a 10 minute walk from the stadium.

While I can not tolerate BB and TB I respect the hell out of Kraft.
 
I really hope he doesn't start milking this like he milked the death of his wife ( and subsequently started banging a model young enough to be his daughter while Myra's body was still warm)
 
Robert Kraft inherited a terrific cheese factory and associated businesses that generate incredible profits and has allowed him to further increase his wealth with the Patriots. He like a number of the other team owners have the level of incredible wealth that permits many really great acts of generous philanthropy (some public but many private), every day of their life. I greatly admire these terrific acts that these biilionaires undertake but don't forget that they had the good fortune to inherit extremely successful business models and employ the best tax attorneys and make political donations and employ lobbyists to continue to optimize the results and grow their net wealth (by like $100M+ every year). Good luck to them..

Tom Brady? Classy? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him as a QB, but CLASSY? Every time I see the guy he comes off as conceited and/or a sore loser.

Every Miami Dolphin fan should take 29 minutes of their time to watch the video. The magnitude of Stephen Ross's terrific philanthropy is incredible. I knew that he donated the initial $100M to the University of Michigan but I had no idea of the further donation. Thank you number1fin for adding the link to this video. As Miami Dolphin fans, we are lucky our team is owned by a very classy man who is eager for improvement.
