I agree Tannehill has not been playing his best and it's frustrating seeing him underthrow and miss deep passes. But I've noticed something from the young qbs. Of last years rookie qb class, the one playing the best and maintaining consistency up to this season so far is Russel Wilson. The Colts are doing fine with their record, but they are starting to run into issues. They keep having to get comebacks and fall behind in the first half and it's starting to catch up to them and it's catching up to Andrew Luck who I believe is a very good qb and will be great. But he is struggling too and that's because like the dolphins, while maybe not as bad, the colts offensive is bad too. There are plenty of stats on sacks by tannehill , but luck has taken a ton of hits too this season. Donald Brown has helped at times, but trent richardson has been bad, and now Luck isn't looking as great either. RG3, recovering from his knee injury hasn't looked so hot either. The skins line is not that good either. RG3 has taken such a beating as well. Even though the skins running game has been good and better than fins and colts, on the flipside, their defense sucks. I think you can see a pattern here. What does Russel Wilson have, that is very benefical for a second year qb? A great ground game, led by a beast running back who powers up after snacking on some skittles. A good offensive line, keeping Wilson protected and him some time and for him to not get hammered. And a very good defense, so he doesn't have to feel that he has to carry the team or get in a shootout or get comebacks for the hawks. He doesn't have WRs like the Broncos or amazing talent there, but they are doing well and making plays. They lost Rice, but Harvin is back and he has a playmaker skill set and can make big plays, and golden's a good complimentary WR. It does hurt the Hawks though that Browner is now out from susepension, but they will most likely hae home field advantage either 1st seed or second seed. Basically, it's not just tannehill, but what happens when teams aren't helping a young qb out, but putting the burden on them, not helping the further developlent of a young qb. It's not to say that wilson isn't doing things himself, as I believe he's been as helpful and winning games and carrying sokme himself at times, but the hawks team and situation has helped Wilson to further develope as we're seeing, whereas, it's been more shaky for Tanny, rg3 and luck.
