I don't even read most of the threads in these forums, cuz frankly, I don't wanna read about how Chambers sucks, Ronnie was the wrong pick, and how we're the same team we were last year. It's only been 2 games but I've seen a lot of potential from this team. Gus Frerotte has been playing damn good football, nothing special, but solid play. The recievers have been making plays. The defense is palying well. The OL needs work as well as some of the secondary, but what team doesn't have problems? At this point last year I was worried, we were 0-2 and about to play Pittsburgh. But this year I am confident in this team, and going into this Sunday's game against the Panthers, I am confident in beating them. This team has plenty of talent and disciplined coaching to get the job done right. We made mistakes against the Jets, but now we fix them and move on, and thats all we can ask the team to do.

Man, Gus hasn't played that well. But adequately enough, if the OL was playing well, which it is not. The Jests exposed our secondary and every other team we play will see the way they handled us. The DL, while fantastic against the Broncs was not getting consistent pressure against the Jests. Penalties are the second worst issue we face (OL is the worst issue). Hopefully some of these things can be fixed. I am not so confident we can beat the Panthers, but they are coming off a very emotional, big win so we might catch them off guard. The problem is we don't have the talent, especially offensively, to give anything away and we did against the both the Jests and the Broncs. The D was sky-high and did everything right against the Broncs and that was enough to carry the O. That is something that we just can't let happen in the Saban era (letting the D carry the team). We all saw how that doesn't work with Wanny...

That said, we were in the game against the Jests and I felt we could have pulled it off. I never felt that we were out of the game. That is a far cry as to how I viewed games all last year...and that is a positive thing...
