Is it too unrealistic to believe that the Dolphins could be a VERY good team this year? Well, considering they draft well. Right now, I'm kind of confused about what I want them to do. I think trading down is out but I could be wrong. Picking up Matt Ryan would be a good feeling. I think that would be the most depth we had at the quarterback position in ages: Matt Ryan, Josh McCown and John Beck (in no specific order FYI)

What about picking up Darren McFadden? Some say that wouldn't be the smart pick and they might be correct. But consider the spark it would put into the offense! You have no choice but to end that sentence with an exclamation point! Think about: Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Darren McFadden AND Lorenzo Booker. Maybe the best backfeild in the NFL IMO. Pick up an OL in the ladder rounds. John Beck/John McCown flinging it to Ted Ginn and Ernest Wilford who look to be a good tandem, but I do miss Chris Chambers!

Not to mention the fact that they are now playing under Bill Parcells. If you don't think that will motivate a player then you're out of your mind! You don't think they're tired of being among the worst teams in the league. You think the Dolphins don't have tradition?! I might go out on a limb for saying this but I honestly don't care. The Miami Dolphins will make the playoffs this year as a wildcard.

Nice post ....my take is the phins will be a good team 7 wins. the st will be alot better which means better field position. the coaching will be better, players will work harder under the eye of bill P. I don't think the phins will take Mcfadden but a rb in day 2 of the draft....

Well that is the O taken care of---What about Defense. What exactly wins championships shag.

BTW--glad you are excited.

Good post, and welcome to the best Phinz board on the planet. While I have my reservations on making the playoffs this year, I do expect to field a much more competitive team in 2008...

PHINZ RULE!!!!

when are the ladder rounds? Is that a supplemental draft or something?

No. It means later rounds. 6th and 7th.

When someone says ladder it means the last of the choices.

Like if I say would you rather have Beck or Ryan?

If someone says the ladder they are answering Ryan(and that would make them wise:lol:).

If someone says the former, they are answering Beck.

Well, last year i picked them to win six-seven games under Cameron and quite frankly i'd have to say that the week 1 Dolphins holds a large advantage to the CURRENT Dolphins in talent. We may be younger, we may have more cap room, but i cant say that this current team is better than last years team before all the injuries and roster changes. Thus it would be hard for me to believe this team will be very competitive next season, even when they bring in players through the draft and some more free agents.

The next season will be baby steps towards the Phins ability to field a competitive playoff calibre team. 5 - 7 wins is not out of the question and anymore would be icing on the cake. We must get good before we become a contender. We are the most impaitient fans in the world, spoiled by a very successfull winning franchise. We are going to have to ride it out and just be patient.

i will be shocked if this team wins more then 5 games....they must build this team thru the draft

You crack me up WV. :)

I think we have a good shot at winning 6 to 7 games.........maybe more???

I'm sorry, I don't feel the same positiveness (is that a word) as you, but I do feel better than I have the last few years. I think we ALL are optimistic this time of year. I won't think about getting excited about the teams' prospects until after the draft...until then, we'll see...

I just want one win before October. And a Patriot loss would be nice.
