I will be turning 50 in January and I have followed this team since I was 7yrs old in 1973. I followed them when the only news you got about the games were from Dolphin Digests and Highlights on Monday Night Football. I used to get the paper on Monday mornings so I could look at the stats and see who played well. Living in NY has never been easy to be a Dolphin fan but I always wore my jerseys, sweatshirts, hats and stuff with pride. I have been to numerous games in Miami, numerous Training Camps and even took a family trip to see Dan Marino inducted into the HOF. I turned my two boys into Dolphin fans and they sit and watch every Sunday by my side as they wonder why I ever chose this team to follow. I tell them that this used to be an amazing Franchise with amazing players and contending every year for Super Bowls. They look at me like I am crazy. I hate to admit it but after the game last night, I had to make a run to the store to pick up a few things for the wife and I realized I was wearing my Dolphin sweatshirt. For the first time I can remember, I was TOTALLY embarrassed to be wearing it. I took it off to go into the store. MY son, who was with me, was laughing. It was then that it finally hit me how truly bad it has become to follow this team.

Some observations and questions from the game yesterday:

Did we just play Jarvis Landry so he could break the team reception record? He looked in pain, looked slow and it sure looked they ran some plays early just to get him the ball. I truly love those 2-3 yard completions. At one point I think he had 4 catches for 24 yards.

Why did we have Reshard Jones returning kicks? Has this turned into a campaign just to get him to the Pro Bowl? I love Jones. Plays hard and is very talented. The past few weeks of the promotion of trying to get him votes has been funny. The way he handled that ball after the interception was comical. You just knew he was going to lose the ball. Alot of stylin and profilin and nothing to show for it

Did we really get a penalty for too many men in the huddle AFTER and injury timeout??? WE sure did!

Did anyone see after Pouncey got hurt, the practice shotgun snap Douglass took on the field?? It was on TV. He fired it to Tannehill as Ryan was walking up to tell him something. Comical

Did anyone see MLB Sheppard make a stop on a run in the 1st qtr and jump up and scream and prance around? Then on the VERY NEXT PLAY gets totally beat on a pass for a TD that he was nowhere near defending? Slowly walks off the field. He was not dancing anymore. Hysterical

Did we really play a guy at LT that was that inept? Talking not 1 but 2 guys! Did our coaches make the adjustment of putting a RB there to help him? a TE? NOPE. Free runs at the QB. Frightening

This was a debacle from TOP to BOTTOM
The Front office went into a game with not only woefully inept players in starting positions but not even enough backups to play
The Coaches made no adjustments...no changes...no fire...no NOTHING. The biggest indictment I can say is that this team does not even look like it practices during the week. I am serious. Can there be a worse statement?
The players missed blocks...missed assignments...dropped passes...committed penalties...shied away from contact...looked lost and disinterested and QUIT . The minute players start shying away from contact it's OVER

I have seen some bad Dolphin team over the years, some truly bad losses..some truly horrible performances. That yesterday was the MOST embarrassing game from top to bottom. Not even close. They could not even capably compete against one of the worst teams in the league. They made me take my sweatshirt off in public. They made me finally embarrassed about a team I love.

Reshad Jones suddenly returning kicks was a big WTF to me... Ya, let's put our lone pro bowler in a position to injure himself for seemingly no real advantage. That should seal Campbell's fate right there...

Campbell knows that he's not getting the HC position. Like Lane Kiffin knowing he was going to be fired, sending Janikowski out to attempt a 76 yard fg years ago.

Thanks for the memories of the funnier stuff OP. That Jamil Douglas snap to Tanne's nuts, Reshad Jones carrying the ball like a rookie. Very sad, sad laughs

The 62-7 game vs. Jacksonville was a worse effort. Granted it was in the postseason but that was the worst performance I've ever seen.

Do not bring up the 62-7 game. In my mind, that never happened.

I remember that game( I try not to) but that was against a good team. This was a joke of jokes. With no expectations...this still was a disappointment

Thanks NY, I got a good laugh out of your post. That is really sad when all we have left is to laugh at our team. I feel your pain, I have three children, all die hard fans which I am starting to regret. And Yes worst performance ever even the radio announcers were laughing at us after the third attempt at onside kick and they are all ex Dolphins.

i think this is the worst full season of football from the dolphins i have ever seen in terms of hype vs on field product

I also forgot about the comedy routine of the onside kicks! I swear they looked like they never had practiced it before!

I missed the game, I watched the Redskins beat the Bills, and the Steelers beat the Broncos instead.

Those were some great games.

I learned that the secret to enjoying my NFL Sundays was to tivo the fins and watch them AFTERWARDS, so I can still enjoy the other games.

I'm going to watch it tonight. The MNF match up tonight is horrible.

Can it really have been that bad?

I mean week 2 thru week 4 this year were unbearably bad.

The score didn't look so bad, they only lost by 16, the Bills beat us by 27 in week 3.

I'm sure Tannehill would probably have played much better if he had an all pro O-line protecting him,

and the very best coaches that money can buy coaching,

well, I'm honestly not so sure about that... :ponder::err:

Truer words have never been spoken. Never in my wildest dreams could you have predicted how bad this season has turned out
