#1 (Eli in the draft)
If we were to go for Eli it would take alot of work and wed never be guarenteed unless we had the 1st pick in the draft..but if we managed a way to get him we would probably lose ogunleye and the 1st round picks and maybe next years 1st round. Then our next pick in the draft would be 3rd round. We cannot take a WR in the 3rd round that will contribute like williams, woods, or clayton would. So if we go Eli in the draft you can forget WR in the draft. We would have to go FA to get a good WR, like Horn.
#2 (WR in the draft)
We can get a very good WR at the moment with the draft pick we have in the 1st round. And if we were to trade ogunleye for a top 10 pick then we will be able to really address WR and something else in the 1st round. Wed be looking at Evans, Williams, Woods, Clayton. Then after that wed be looking at OLine in the later picks. If we were to go WR in the draft then wed be looking at Brunell for QB. (This is the most likely scenario because there have already been leaks about brunell and the dolphins going for him.
So what were looking at here is if we go Rookie QB in the draft then were looking at Vet. WR's and possibly Brunell as well however I think they would probably keep Jay because they know that Manning would replace him very soon. If we are to go WR in the draft then look for Brunell for sure.
Now what vet WRs are an option in FA this year?? There is much talk about Owens and Horn but are there any others?
Lets hope to god that they dont go scenario 3 in the draft.....
#3 Oline, Def. in the draft.
If we use our 1st round picks on Oline and Defense then this franchise has totally lost sight of what needs to be taken care of. Defense is not an issue until we lose a good player like Ogun for a stud QB/WR. In that case after weve taken care of our WR or QB THEN we can take care of the loss of Ogun and fill that spot in. If we start going for Oline and defense in the first round without taking care of BOTH QB and WR then were looking at another Wanny year.
