The Dolphins looked alot better this week. They only had 5 penalties this week. It looks like they put two low-penalty, back to back performances together. They also won the Time of Possession battle. Those are two big factors of the game that Miami has been losing all too frequently, as we all know.

The defense played a GREAT game. They put an ENORMOUS amount of pressure on the Saints QB. They had 5 sacks and one INT! They also came up with two HUGE 4th down stops. Keith Traylor stopped the Saints RB on 4th down once with his face. It was extremely impressive. Reggie Howard has been getting WAY too much criticism from people. Some of it has been deserving, but other parts have just been negative attacks on the guy. He played a great game today. He jumped that short route and got the INT. As far as I noticed, he only messed up coverage on one route. Zach Thomas was a little quiet this game. But everyone stepped up to fill in for him.

The offense played better. Gus played another game that was barely average though. He did just barely enough to keep things moving, some of the time. I still have some concerns about his longevity. The running game was brilliant. Ronnie had a great game. His style is becoming more clear. He is always trying to pick up extra yards. Just when you think he is done, he picks up more. The 3rd down conversion at the end was great. Ricky had a good game too. Ricky had some BIG runs throughout. It seemed like they knew Miami was going to Ricky when they got near the goaline. So that prevented Ricky from getting his first TD. But it will come very soon.

I thought it was very strange to see everyone predicting Miami to barely win, or even lose against the Saints. I was expecting a blowout in Miami's favor. My prediction was Dolphins 31, Saints 13. If you subtract one TD a piece from that score, I was pretty close. Miami is a good team. People have lost sight of that. They lost 3 games in a row to 3 really good teams. The Saints are a team that is tired. Their season is abnormal. It sucks for them. They will probably only win a couple more games this season. But Miami is a good team that can keep getting better each week, and finish strong.

Miami's next big step will be to beat a playoff caliber team again. They beat the Broncos and the Panthers, which are both playoff caliber teams. But they let 3 other playoff caliber teams beat them. We will have to see how they stack up against the Falcons and the Patriots over the next two weeks. They are both home games. Go FINS!!

Here's to a win and a record of 3-4. Cheers! :adfin:

I guess alot of fans....including myself was blinded by the hype of A. Brooks....he's as bad as Frerotte.

Great post. These next couple of weeks are going to tell us a lot about this team.

I think it is very clear Gus will not be a starter here.

I was very happy to see Ricky running hard and then have Ronnie continue to put the pressure on. If we had a QB, this could be a great team. As it is now though I am enjoying the rebuild of this team.

Even more important, this was A ROAD WIN!!!!!

Shouldent it be more like a win on a neutral field?

I'd have to give the edge to Saban. Except with this foot note....Saban finally knows what the visiting team's locker room looks like.

The team is limited as long as Gus is behind center. This game could have been over at halftime if Gus could only hit open receivers with some consistency.
Aaron Brooks, BTW, has a good arm but he's never impressed me. That safety he took was unecessary

I could be wrong but I think we had 6 sacks. Also 3 takeaways.

Zach only had 2 tackles which stinks for my Fantast Team.

Good to see Howard with the INT.

Defense played a great game. Offensively Gus needs to somehow find a way to complete his passes. He had a great throw I think it was to Booker/Welker that was lobbed very nicely. Other then that, his accuracy is poor.

If I were Saban, I'd paint a target on the Dolphins practice facility wall and have Gus throw 200 balls to the target every friggin day

I definately agree we played better but we got some HUGE breaks. That Boston fumble being blown dead was big and that pick Gus threw and was going to be returned for a TD until his own man tackled him and caused him to fumble.... that was halarious .

But I think for the most part your right on.

There were some good breaks today, but the important thing is the team took advantage of them. Weird stuff like that happens in the NFL this week. I guess with how the Saints season has gone, it was only fitting that it happened to them.

what happened on the boston play for 50+ yards?

He had his facemask pulled, kind of got away then fumbled when the next guy hit him. For some reason one of the refs blew the play dead. It was a good break for the Phins, but a bad call.
