I just want to get a few things off my chest that I've been thinking about for a while while reading this board.
1) First is the hate for Philbin. Has he made some decisions that have hurt the team? Yes, no doubt. The way he managed the QB situation after the KC comes to mind. But we cannot ignore that with Philbin at the helm we're seeing the best Dolphins team since the early 2000's (yes even better than the '08 team even if we don't make the playoffs). Under Philbin our defense has obviously become a top 5 unit and our offense is scoring more points than we've seen in a long long time. Philbin has been instrumental in the development of Tannehill who is easily our best QB since Marino (and he's only been getting better ever year). People are so quick to give all the credit to Coyle and Lazor when something goes good but all the blame is put on Philbin when something goes wrong. Coyle and Lazor have done a great job but let's not forget Philbin is their boss and has a huge influence in day to day and game day activities.
2) Next is the hate for Tannehill. I don't mind if some people were a little iffy on Tannehill early in the season and I still don't mind if you're still not sold on him. My problem lies with the people who like to nitpick at every single play he makes and somehow try to extrapolate from those few plays the he's not a "franchise QB." Give me a break. No QB is perfect. I hate when people say things like, "yeah, he had a good game yesterday but he should have ran the ball for a first instead of throwing it to Gibson." It just seems like a lazy way to insult his play when that throw was one of the two or three mistakes he made all day.
3) Lastly, can we stop acting so bipolar? Last week Taylor sucked and now he's a promising future star. Hartline was garbage and now he's a valuable weapon. Let's try and be consistent and not change our mind based off one performance.
