The biggest thing besides all the sacks in the beginning of the year was all the penaties that had pushed us back. we have now limited those penaties and look poised for a great second half of the year. there were so many times when we shot ourselves in the foot (the Lehan illgal block which gave pitt an automatic first down and numerous occasions when we were in field goal range and took ourselves right out of it with a false start.

and for once i give mike mularkey credit on his playcalling. we finally showed some confidence to playaction and throw the ball long. He did make some dumb calls though like the trick play when were up 10, and i also don;t like how he likes to pass alot on first down in the beginning of the game. Basically this team is starting to gel and i like what i see.

Thats true we had a ton of penalties that killed us but we did revervse this season around so far.

Here is an interesting blurb from PFW about the playcalling and Mike.

"........In all three of the Dolphins’ victories this season, they ran as much as, or more than, they passed. We hear that Saban’s fingerprints were all over the team’s play-calling during the first half of the season and that maligned offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey was finally able to take more control of the game plan for the Bears game. He did a good job of involving his top playmakers — getting WR Chris Chambers involved early and getting Brown more than 20 carries......"

maybe the blame was pointed at the wrong person? the last 2 games have been better playcalling, although that double reverse fumble was a stupid play call

but when we run the ball we win, tennessee/chicago/kansas city

good read

They also led the games they won, which in general means you run to control the time. It's not rocket science and don't make so much of it.

I think the playcalling is questionable but not the run/pass percentage.

Most games are won when you run more than you pass because you are trying to take the air out of the ball by running it especially towards the end. I do agree that we need to run alot more than we did during the beginning of the season. Ronnie is a stud.
