Daniel Thomas - RB - Dolphins

The Palm Beach Post believes rookie RB Daniel Thomas has lost coach Tony Sparano's confidence.

Thomas didn't see the field until the second half of Saturday's game, managing just 2.3 yards per carry. The Post's Brian Biggane senses that Sparano has lost trust in Thomas' ability to earn the tough yards between the tackles after chewing out the rookie for tentative running at the goal-line in Preseason Week 2. That being the case, the Fins are going to be a more pass-oriented offense than originally believed.

Vernon Carey - T - Dolphins

Dolphins RG Vernon Carey admitted that he "took a step back" against the Bucs on Saturday.

Carey and RT Marc Colombo made Bucs DE Michael Bennett look like a Pro Bowler while the Dolphins managed just 15 yards on 13 first-half carries. The right side of Miami's offensive line figures to remain an issue all season long.

rotoworld is really becoming stupid lately we barely had the ball the first half and plus they didnt have many run attempts when we did have it.

Shut up Tony, it's your damn fault that he can't run between the tackles.. there is no between the tackles. Fix your damn O-Line and then you can judge him.

I'm happy to see that we are going to be more pass oriented. Last night I kept thinking, dont even run.

Obviously you want to run, and Henne hasn't proven he's peyton manning out there. But maybe if given the chance, the right system, and confidence he can start chucking and producing. Then we can run. Run first won't work this year, and I'm kind of happy about that. I think with the new offense, we spread the field more and it helps henne. I also would rather bush catch 120 passes out of the backfield than have 120 rushes, seriously.

Daniel Thomas blows. Wrong pick to make.

I'm hoping we just pass a lot with Reggie moving around in formations.

I wasn't happy about the Thomas pick. I was hoping that he would come in and be productive, but all this talk that he is running scared just makes me sick to my stomach, and we moved up for this guy. Should of let the Bengals had him IMO.

I would say the reason Thomas didn't play more is simple .....

Thomas is on the team due to is high-draft status (even traded up), they have to evaluate the other guys to figure out who to cut.

I don't believe that for a second. With the shortened off season I think its more plausible that they don't think hes ready for the NFL and thats why others are getting his much needed reps.

Amen to that.

how the hell do u expect thomas or bush to run when you arent giving them holes? rotoworld is lies and BS, thomas is fine even though he has made some rookie mistakes. He did great in the carolina game and has been hitting the holes just fine in the carolina game. Dont believe a word out of rotoworld, we are going to be a run first team no matter what, the line will be fixed come opening day.

Too soon and too much inconsistent line play to pass judgment on DT. I too am a little disappointed... but this guy was crowned king in the media too early.

I agree with Tony S... you can't hesitate in the hole ever, especially on the goal line.

He still has a lot to prove... but I'm not going to give up just yet. If he's averaging 2.2 by the bye week, then that's a different story.

I agree with that. The middle was clogged up. But Thomas did jump wayyy too soon. That was obvious

Dude...It says the Dolphins had 15 yards on 13 first half carries. I hate to point out the facts to you but they're in the opening post of the thread.
