Please no Jack Conklin or reach for another guy like Whitehair who has never played guard at a meaningful level. We're better off with Bushrod and comp between Douglas and Turner. Hopefully Tannenbaum gets his head out of his tail and signs Schwartz but I'm not counting on it.

We can not count on a converted tackle (who would be a reach in round 1 or 2) to come in and start at guard.

I honestly don't know what this regime meant when they put a priority on the OG position but if they don't run the draft well and fill holes at DE, LB, RB and especially corner its going to be a really long season and an even longer rebuild. they shouldn't foul up this draft because they failed to address the OG spot.

First 2 picks need to be some combination of DE/LB and CB

Why do you guys think this team needs lb so much? You just traded for alonzo to play mike you have a solid will in jenkins he has holes mainly in the run game but hes not a eye sore you have a 2 down strong in misi who is a solid strong when he plays...you have hewitt a developing will and potential nickel lb with jenkins this year if alonzo shows hes not the athlete to handle every down play...you have vigil as a 2 deep option at strong and mike although youd like a more fluid option if you have to start the backup at mike at least

Really what you need is a depth strong...you cant afford to use a top 50 pick on it though if you are miami right now

Cb yes we need day 1 boundary starter talent...we have a slot and we have nickels we need a starter opposite maxwell preferably with boundary size and tools

If we are taking Cody Whitehair (OG, Kansas State) in round 2 then he is absolutely the answer.

All i know is if you dont take a guard top 50 target joe dahl later...i have no idea why that guy doesnt get more love...but i know i want him...although being a college left tackle to guard id prefer if he was a depth option to start and not the week 1 plug in...i cant find anything that has him high on boards...maybe the medias late there too...id love to develop that in a phone booth

His college tape shows a guard playing left tackle which shows the feet he has and hes got some pop to him...dont read too much into that play in space at tackle...thats a guard all the way...the tape even screams it

Does it not concern you about the 16 reps (high school basketball players do better) or the fact he hasn't played guard?

All LB's on roster scheduled to start have durability questions. Most or all of them haven't been playmakers for at least a year. I like Jenkins and Misi but they're playing positions where you need playmakers and I don't see them making plays. Kiko could be great or he could be Philly Kiko. Better get insurance early

I mean i get that but if you didnt think kiko gives you starter mike play for 16 games you shouldnt have made that trade in the first place...and thats separate from getting pawned on the trade

Im just trying to look at it thru their eyes which says to me they believe kiko is a 3 down or worst case 2 down lb in miami...whcih makes me think they are really in the depth lb market in the draft...i dont buy the replace the will options this year with a high pick...not at all

Also nothing says they cant draft or bring in udfa lbs late on day 3 or as free agents...you might get a 2 deep out of it

They are leaving too many holes for them to be able to draft developmental depth lb high or replace starters

Not sure what anyone sees in Douglas or Turner to think they are the answer any more than Thomas is. Conklin can also move to LT when Albert gets hurt and be his eventual replacement. Hoops I know you don't see him as a viable option long term LT but watching him at Michigan State showed me they guy was a dominant force.

I agree, I prefer to take a tackle over a guard. Someone that can start at guard but play T in the future. We can not take someone who is strictly a guard.

I dont see the feet or lateral short area quicks for long term left tackle there...so i wouldnt draft him in a 11 personnel o highly 5 man on the los as result in pass pro to play a left tackle for me

I think thats right tackle and guard...conklin that is

Maybe this has something to do with Dahl not getting more love.

5. Joe Dahl, Washington State

Our top pass-protecting tackle each of the last two seasons, Dahl’s slight size and short arms have the NFL envisioning a move inside to guard for him, but we’re hoping to see him stick outside at tackle. He’s not a force in the run game, and he was susceptible to bull rushes on the edge, so his smooth-moving skill-set fits best on the outside, even with the issues against power. He ran a solid 5.18, but it’s his 28 bench reps that perhaps indicate that his on his way to shoring up his weakness in pass protection.

While he may never be a top-notch all around tackle, Dahl projects similarly to David Bakhtiari of the Green Bay Packers as a potential plus pass-blocker who struggles with power in both the running and passing games.

Bahktiari starts for green bay and is solid...i scouted bahktiari had him left tackle only cause he lacked strength to kick inside but hes solid

I see dahl with more punch and his guard work at the senior bowl for a guy that never played it was pretty darn good

i do agree that bull rushes in space gave him problems at left tackle mainly letting rushers get into his body but at the senior bowl he was impressive punch and anchor wise in 1 on 1s as a guard

again preferably developmental depth

Maybe the Dolphins can put Dahl on the same strength training program just put Thomas and Turner on. :idk:

I can't believe Dallas Thomas is going to be in camp again. WTF does this organization see in him that we aren't?
