Am I the only one getting the impression that Philbin is aiming to have RB/WR/TE by committee by design?

It looks like he wants to have several guys all in similar roles. And not have a classic 1st String, 2nd String, etc.

RB- Bush, Miller, Thomas, Slaton, (Messam?)

WR- all of 'em + draftees, who knows how many we have now LOL about 10

TE- Egnew, Fasano, Mastrud

Note: I consider Charles Clay to be our "everything" guy (RB/slot/TE) a la great guys Shula had like Crash Jensen and Jim Kiick

I suspect we see LOTS of situational rotating in and out this year, and lots of variable personnel groupings which challenges opp. defenses.

It does look like at least the WRs will play Saints style, each player having a role and being used to their strengths but none of them actually stars.

If you get the right qb, the "system" approach can make your team very successful for a long time. Look at New England. They've been a prolific offense with essentially a bunch of nobodies besides Brady. Branch, Woodhead, etc., Plug 'em in, if they get an attitude (Moss), or get too expensive, or lose a step, plug the next guy in. But you have to have the qb and the coach/oc/system all on the same page.

I see us going in that direction, and I like it. Tannehill can step into it and teach it, we got rid of the only prima donna, looks like we suddenly have a lot of athletes to spread the ball to. This offense can really grow into it together and be good for years to come.

i think that's what they are shooting for. The QB , head coach and the system stay the same. The pieces are interchangable after that.

thats fine for this year, we can't fix all of our holes in one draft, but next year we better spend a 2nd round pick on WR

Why is everyone counting TANNEHILL as "money in the Bank"? I don't give a d*mn how familiar he is w/the new offensive scheme, in College he was d*ck as a QB and had virtually NO success against topshelf opponents. As far as his resumee goes, he had what--19 games as a QB? That reminds me of FLYNN, and his 2 NFL starts. So some "green as grass" true-blue "college boy" is going to morph overnight into a BRADY, or a BREES, or maybe a MANNING? Yeah...RIGHT! And what was A & M's record last season? People were talking about them in glowing terms before the season began! How did they do, again?

The more I think of TANNEHILL at #8, the less I like it.
