I used to respect R. Williams as a player, but after the early retirement and the failed drug tests, I find it hard to respect him now. He's such a ******. You're going to get paid millions, all he has to do is just stop smoking pot and get his act together. Talk about a selfish, low character guy. Do you guys think Ricky will come back in Sept., and do you still respect him as a player even though he let your team down numerous times?
I personally think he won't take another snap in the NFL. Ronnie Brown better step up for you guys.

I know for a fact that he will never play for the Dolphins again. Cameron has already shut that door. He might end up in St. Louis, maybe Green Bay, but certainly not with the Dolphins. We're better for it. We've lost nothing, not like in 2004 when he quit on us the first time. Great ballplayer, bad headcase.

I think Ronnie will step up bigger than people think. Jets fans should already be familiar with what Ronnie can do ... he ran for 110 yards and 127 yards in our 2 games last year. He's only going to get better now that we have Cam calling the plays and we have some more weapons on offense. If anyone can turn Ronnie into a top 5 or top 10 NFL back it's Cam.

I'm sick and tired of supporting someone who just doesn't care.

I don't think anything bad about Ricky at all. Well, wasted potential of course but it's his choice to decide what to do with it. I saw a long interview with him on Total Access a few weeks back and he looks happy teaching Yoga in California, so I wish him the best doing that and I hope he's happy.

I think Ricky just really has a problem bigger than what we think he does with that social anxiety disorder.

MIKE13-That sig is the best I've seen. Awesome.

As much skill as Ricky has, hopefully he finds happiness in doing something other than the NFL, because he won't play another down in the NFL due to the drug tests.

I also believe that RW will never play for the Dolphins again....I guess you can breath easier now! :)

I'm kind of lost in the whole Ricky saga. Didn't he deny the rumors and say he never failed? Did anybody from the nfl confirm or deny that Ricky failed a drug test?
Just curious whats going on with him even if he won't be a Dolphin anymore.

That is how people should look at him. I've heard and read from a lot of people that put him down for smoking and throwing away millions of bucks. Half the people in this country smokes pot, and money isn't everything. If he has found happiness, then he should be looked up to. A lot of people in this country haven't found happiness and maybe they should look at Ricky. People say that smoking is illegal, so he is an idiot, while these same people go out for a beer and then drive home. He's not an idiot for turning down millions of dollars, he should be looked up to for doing whats best for him and finding happiness.

yo mike13 you have the best sig i have ever seen haha. anyways back on ricky, hes career with the dolphins is over. it couldnt be any more obvious after cams latest press conference. its upsetting in the fact that ricky can flat out run, hes an amazing talent however his catch is that he just cant follow the rules. sad to say that ricky wont ever run in a dolphins uniform again but its time to move on and let go of this guy who has really put the organization on stall for the last 3 years

I do remember Ricky getting really jacked up by Derrick Rodgers in a preseason game. I think it was in 1999. I also remember Al Wislon laying some wood on him at Denver in 2002.

I respected Ricky a lot more for quitting football than I ever did for him playing it. Clearly the money isn't important to him in the same way it is for much of our society. He's much happier in his version of a spiritual lifestyle, I say good for him. I'll miss watching him, but it's his life.

To say he's selfish because he didn't put the team before himself is somewhat hypocritical when the team puts itself before his wellbeing (Wannstedt was running him into the ground, and Ricky was smart enough to learn the Earl Campbell lesson).

As for smoking pot, I'm not sure where the puritanical attitudes come from. Even if Ricky did use it, alcohol is a far more dangerous drug, as is nicotine. But no one criticizes players for using those drugs. Caffeine and sugar probably do more damage to the body too, is the NFL going to add an espresso test?

Such a shame that he can't quit the habit that will keep him from playing again. I wanted him to come back and shine like he has done before. But, enough is enough. So much ability - wasted.

No doubt that Cam has turned his back and moved on without him. But, Ricky laid this bed for himself. If he really cares about football and is upset about not playing in Miami this coming year he has no one but himself to blame.
