I love Dansby and would overpay to bring him here. I think he's that good but my understanding is he's about 99% certain to be franchised if contract cant be worked out. If for some reason he's available I'm with you

Why no hype for Karlos Dansby of Arizona? Granted he would play primarily the same role as Joey Porter but the guy is a playmaker and he will only be 27 during the 2008 season.

Arizona still could franchise him but there is still a 50/50 chance he will hit FA.

I didnt even think of him.. he would be a nice little pick-up i think. Pretty respectable numbers. I like his sack and int #'s

because there are literally dozens of LB's entering the draft that will be dope. bell and goff are only two guys that many people aren't aware of that will be studs in the NFL. he is the right age though, so if we don't draft 1 or more, i would be down like chinatown.

if he's not franchised, he'll be too expensive to bring here. Our LB corps can't be all high-priced FAs, just not financially feasible.

I agree... but if Zach retires or is cut I would think Dansby would be a worth the money. They will have to draft the inside guys and get them relatively cheap. Would love to see Laurenitis in the Aqua and Orange next year!

Dansby is one of the underrated LB's in this league. The guy is a monster, but I just don't see us going after him....he's going to demand lots of mula.....but to think Z. Thomas, Crowder, Porter and Dansby....can you say overloaded?

Ravens just released they will franchise suggs .so if he is not franchised will make him the no1 FA LB.

under the radar wait till FA start before assuming this.

This is a confusing post. Who's assuming what?

Suggs isnt an "under the radar" player whereas Dansby is and I seriously doubt anyone here didnt know or didnt expect Suggs to be franchised.

Dansby might be under the radar FOR NOW , he will be sought after if he is let go. I dont have any concerns about him getting a good deal, i just hope its with us.

I mentioned "under the radar... to a degree"

I just don't see him listed in many Top Free Agent Lists. Plus with all the "dream offseason" posts I've read I don't ever see him mentioned.

I also agree there is a good chance he will be franchised. If so then Calvin Pace is a decent substitution and probably a good bit cheaper.

I'm interested. We have the cap space now and I don't see Porter playing out his entire contract here.
