Im from the school of thought that WR's have 3 years to make an impact. Their third year is usually their Breakout Season. Well im bored at work and found out that Ginn has had more receiving yards and more Receptions in his first two years than Steve Smith or Reggie Wayne. In terms of T.D's, he has just as many as Reggie wayne with a Peyton Manning at QB... and more than Steve Smith. Get Ready for the 3rd Year!

nice research :thanks:

Stats are on NFL.com i just typed in the players names and looked at their first two years here are the exact stats:
Reggie: 27 rec 345 yards 0 t.d. first year; 49 rec 716 yrds 4 t.d. second year
Smith: 10 rec 154 yards 0 t.d. first year; 54 rec 872 yards 3 t.d. second year
Ginn: 34 rec 420 yards 2 t.d. first year; 56 rec 790 yards 4 total tds (2 rushing) second year

The only problemis that neither Wayne nor Smith was the #1 WR on their team either of their 1st 2 years. It was Harrison and I believe Muhammad.

So in essence, the fact that their stats are similar is not a ringing endorsement for Ginn.

Yes. these stats have been posted before, and, stats of plenty of WRs that came in thier first year ready to play have also been posted. It does not take 3 years for every revciever to develop. It does for some, but not for all. I've already heard the excuses for Ginn if he doesn't perform this year. They are;

1. Chad Pennington can't throw him fly routes.
2. He only played WR since OSU and can't be expected to develop in three years.
3. He is always double teamed.

There's always a ready made excuse for Ginn, it seems. Meanwhile, guys like Anquan Boldin just come into the NFL and dominate.

Boldin? Blake and McKown.

Really no comparison of Beck to either of the above qbs. Blake if I remember right at one point did have some very productive seasons. And well McCown had on field experience, he just didn't have the issues MIA as a franchise had going 1-15 and the lackluster boob knowing as Cam Cameron.

Beck wasn't a world beater...For sure. Trent Green had some productive seasons, no? Cleo Lemon is still in the NFL.

Point is; For every excuse Ginn gets, there is a counterpoint. I am still hopeful, as he has shown consistant improvement every year. He just need sto step up to the next level and leave the excuses at home.

GoonBoss is just afraid that his great talent eye will be proven wrong in spades. So let him talk! If he can't see Ginn's talent and game affecting presence... if he's fine w. using statlines completely out of context, no one should try and wake him up. He's probably really happy in that nice little Ginn-hating world, lol.

Educate yourself before you embarass yourself again. Was Beck the only QB that year? Did he start all the games? Pray tell, in what fantasy football school did you gain your knowledge of that season from?

Oh, I see now; Stats lines that FAVOR Ginn are valid. Stat lines that OPPOSE Ginn's obvious dominance of the NFL are out of context

That also means that Ginn is the guy getting double teamed and is still producing.
