So, I uh have returned from a little sabbatical. I need to know how to change the tagline beneath my avatar & username.

Left click on your name in the top right corner. Once it opens brother, click account details. Go down to custom title and enter what you want. When done go to the bottom and click save.
I see it when I look up your account. If you don’t let me know what you want it changed to, and I will fix it for you.

how do you delete the alerts on your account?
If you click on the bell icon at the bottom of the drop down menu you can mark them all as read. Or you can go to preferences and turn off whichever ones you wish. There is no way to erase them.
