I have been out to dinner for the last four hours and computer is way too slow to read all these posts, can somebody give me the cliff notes version of the Brees situation as it stands right now?

Brees going to meet with saints
then going to meet with miami
saints reportingly offered 5 year 40 mill contract

The good news is he hasn't signed with the Saints yet. I think if he was really going to go there, he would have signed a contract by tonight.

He is still in New Orleans, but he WILL make the trip to Miami tomorrow.

Nubs how do we know he is making the trip tomorrow?
John Clayton reported that he will not sign with New Orleans tonight and will visit Miami tomorrow. Supposedly that trip this morning convinced Brees to not sign with the Saints tonight and explore the Dolphins tomorrow.

I still do not get this N.O. thing. How could their situation be more appealing than ours?

So basically if Saban and Mueller didn't make that trip this morning, Brees would already have signed with the Saints.

Yeah, strong possibility. Saban made a very smart move by making that trip.

I would be shocked and very disappointed in Brees if he opted for NO over Miami. The only reason could be the almighty dollar. Other than that New Orleans doesnt compare to the Fins at all. They are rebuilding, they are a good 3-4 years away from even competing for the playoffs, the city is a disaster area, and their owner is a joke! Miami is ready to win NOW, no state income tax, beautiful beaches and homes and FINE women! Wheres the dilemna?
