During last night's telecast of NFL Total Access on the NFL Network, they had a little piece on the whole Sam Madison chewing out Feeley situation that according to them was caught on camera (I do remember McMichaels rant caught on camera but nothing with Madison). Anyway, they went on to talk to Rod Woodson (co-host) and asked him about how his SB champion team the Ravens dealt with the horrible offense. An offense that went a whole month without scoring a TD! He said that he would talk to guys on the O like Sharpe and ask how many points can you get us and sometimes Sharpe would be like "we can get you 7". When it looked like the O wasn't going to help out much, the D would rally around each other and take matters into their own hands. They knew that they had to make their own opportunities through TO and field position to give the O the best chance of scoring. They didn't complain about the O's incompetency but they would make the plays to put the in the best possible position to win. I don't see that with our team. The D seems to blame the O whenever they can't score because instead of looking at it as another game where it's our job to carry the team over the hump, we look at it more like "well I did my job, you need to do yours".

Well it is true..THey DO their jobs....But you're right...They CAN adjust their scheme alittle bit to try and create some Turnover problems for Offenses....Some extra blitzing....Maybe some CB blitzes right off the corner...Switch up some D-Linemen, create some confusion like the Pats do..

Yes the defense carries this team and is frustrated. Yes it does become irritating I suspect. Some of the defense wants Jay to start, is that suprising? They are a veteran defense that is not gonna like going thru the growing pains with an inexperienced Qb like AJ. All that is understandable. So are they right? Do we accept what they say? HEII NO!

Wherein they may be right about the O needing to carry their weight, take Woodson example, that O did nothing and were written off, they defense never to this day bashed the offense. Dilfer took over for Banks I think and the offense did better but wasnt a high powered offense. Defense carries the team and never bashed the O in the press. Dont you think their O frustrated them? Or do you think THAT defense looked at that challenge and said "let me at it" they took it and ran. Ours is a very good defense, we better than a good defense, but we have guys that have been allowed to become prima donnas, they whine to teh press, they whine to each other, whiule maybe true, is counterproductive. They cannot (or should not) control the offense and who plays, that is out of their control, they should do their job and do it well.

Fact is this is Wannys doing for not controling this and there is the question of if he has lost them. Or if he hasnt he may be close unless he does something. It is understandable to be frustrated and angry. it is another to let the teams problems with each other get in teh media. Then mistrust and in fighting occur and teh TEAM is lost and not for one year, but it has to be imploded.

While bickering within the team is counterproductive (and it's not like the players don't realize that), I think it's fine that the D is PO'd. If not for winning the game, then at least for their physical health! Let's face it, the D is on the field much longer than the O, and increased odds of injuries usually accompany exhaustion. Understandably, it would be very difficult to take the high road and just "step up your game" looking at things in that light.

These guys are yelling at DW through the offense. It's like parents yelling at each other through their kids. DW puts the onus on the D to win EVERY game. That gets a little old after a while.
