So, 0-3. Is there any hope for the season? I think there is a small hope. If we beat the Bills then Jets we're back in the division race. Lose one and we're pretty much done. It keeps looking more and more like 2008 was just a tease. Many people pegged us as Super Bowl/Playoff contenders in 2010 before the '08 season. Well we need some wins in 2009 to stay on track. We're still playoff contenders this season. It won't be worse than 2007. After sitting through every game in 2007 watching us lose 15 games I can say this season is already better. We played three playoff teams and should have beat one since we dominated them, a team that won the Super Bowl a few years ago. That gives me some hope.

The Dolphins haven't had a team in the AFC Championship game since the 1992 team. Before Bill Clinton was President. Before Jurassic Park. It's getting a little ridiculous now. The Bengals, Browns, Lions & Redskins (and Texans have yet to be in one) are the only teams it's been a longer wait for. The franchise really needs to get it together, we already recently lost our title of having the winningest franchise in NFL history to the Steelers, because of this schizo decade. (winning teams 2000-2003, ****ty team 2004, winning team 2005, bad team 2006, worst team in franchise history 2007, division title in 2008, 0-3 so far in 2009...). Hopefully the next decade brings us back to glory like when we were a constant playoff threat and Super Bowl contender in the 70s, 80s & 90s. I still have hope for 2009 though, we still have 6 games against the division. Stranger things have happened...

Oh and we better sign a REAL #1 WR. OchoCinco, Boldin, whoever becomes free I don't care.

I love your enthusiasm, I really do but do yourself a favor. Don't get your hopes up. I don't know how long you have been a fan but it doesn't sound like a very long time. If you have been, your doing better than me in terms of optimism.

Being a dolphins fan is like a dog that gets kicked over and over again. Eventually you just stop caring and get used to the beating...

There's no hope for a playoff spot.

You can hope for development, improvement and at least hard fought exciting football (like Monday, not today).

I think its funny people actually think or hope we have a chance of beating the Jets. I think we have better odds beating the Pats then the Jets at this point.

As much as I hate to say it, the Jets are the new Beast of the East. Not just because they beat the Pats but I watched them the last 2 weeks and they are a solid team in all 3 phases. They are intense, play with emotion and are not afraid of anyone. Most people thought they would start the season 0-5. Now we may.

I've been a fan since I was around 6/7 years old. So I've seen those embarassing playoff losses of the late 90s/early 00s. I am optimistic that we can do something positive this year. Not a Super Bowl, but better then 2006/2007, giving hope for 2010 is what I mean.

I understand what your saying but just be forewarned, it has been the same song and dance for as long as I can remember (1983) except our season in 84 and watching us squander a legend.

I love this team more than most (have inked my body to prove my dedication) but it is getting extremely old....

Miami was good enough to end up at the tail end of the draft for years and years. then when they stopped being good ,their drafting has been horrible. I have been watching Miami since the mid 1970's and I can hardly believe how far this team has fallen. At least in the 1980's with Dan you always could hope for a superbowl.Even with no running game and a horrible Defense. Dan was soo good he made a .500 team a contender every year. He covered up horrible teams by being the best player on the field. This Miami team reminds me of those of the late 1970's. How much longer will the fans have to wait this time before we get a true game changer?

The Dolphins still make Hootie cry. I can't believe it's been 25 years since we last made the Super Bowl. It could be worse, we could be the Jets (1968? The Beatles were still together!). Or even the Bills, losing 4 in a row is just embarassing haha. I'd rather not make 2 of those. I still think we will make it in the next 5 years.(otherwise why watch?)

Your one of the people that "get" it. You have every reason to feel ticked off about the state of this once heralded franchise. I am with you on every word you said there. I have been a staunch fan since as long as I can remember. I was born in 1978 and as a baby and infant had my dolphins stuff. My mom said I picked it out myself. Nobody else in the family is a dolphins fan. Heck my brothers and I would have fist fights over our respective teams.

Dolphins still have all their division games left, so, they still have a chance. Win those six and they have a shot at winning the division.

Nice another self made Phins fan. Same here. I started liking them for 3 main reasons. 1. I liked Dolphins, the animal.(Mascot is a great reason to pick a team as a young kid) 2. Ace Ventura (That's how I found about them in the first place-I think) 3. Marino. I think it's funny they are the first sports team I ever liked/knew about and I don't live in Florida. I knew who the Phins were before I even knew who the Yankees were. There are a bunch of Phins fans in NY though. They're one of those teams with fans all over.

I might still hold out some hope but honestly, how can you be optimistic with the way the defense has played the last couple of weeks?
