This little gem was from "The Crying Game", a movie somtimes back.

A British soldier is a prisoner of the IRA, and the IRA guy tells him not to worry, he won't shoot him. The British soldier laughs, and, says that he will, then, relates this story-

There was once a frog by the side of a river, who encountered a scorpion.

The scorpion said to the frog:

"Would you please carry me across the river on your back?"

The frog said

"No, I won't. You'll sting me out there, and, then, I'll drown. That's what scorpions do! They sting things! It's in your nature!"

The scorpion says

"That would be stupid! If I sting you while we're out there in the river, then, you'll drown, but, I'll drown too! I won't sting you."

The frog ponders this solid logic for a few moments, then, says "Ok. I'll do it. Hop on."

The scorpion hops on the frogs back and, they get about hlf way across the river, when the frog feels the scorpion's stinger stab into his back. The frog is slowly paralized by the scorpion's poison, and, as they're both sinking beneath the water, the frog asks:

"Mr. Scorpion! Why did you sting me?! Now we're both going to drown!"

The scorpion, as he slips beneath the surface says:

"I can't help it. It's in my nature."

Make no mistake.....There is a scorpion just waiting to hop on our backs in TO.

Very nice. A lot of people here think Saban can control T.O., or that T.O. is repentent and will be on his best behavior.

Sometimes you just can't control human nature.

i don't know exactly what saban would need to "control." it's more about his ability to control the rest of the team. if owens made some ridiculous comment to the media, i'm not worried about how the rest of the team would respond. they have enough talent anyway to play well without him. he's just an extra boost.

An attitude that infects a locker room with players sideing against other players and, coaches agasint player and other coaches.

A completely selfish attitude that, if not sated to his satisfaction will go south and, drag entire franchises down with him.....An attitude that niether Garcia or McNabb were able to satisfy.

A mindset that has not, and never will be controllable or disciplined.

An arrogance that will wind up rubbing off badly on young players who are not as good at differentiating between swagger/gamesmanship and self induldgent arrogance.

Other than that?

Probably a host of things we havn't even heard of.

hey yeah, that's a great one.

Honestly good humor,:sidelol: but did you hear the one about the Dolphins wanting to win the superbowl and the coach they hired that will stop at nothing (even taiming scorpians) to acheive this goal?

I don't know if TO is a bad guy to be honest with you. I don't like him very much (from what I've seen of him in the past couple of years) but when there are stand up guys like Steve Young who have vouched for him as a teammate, then obviously that does say something. I think what I've heard more often than not is that TO is a great person when he's on the football field playing. The problem is you don't know what's going to happen when he's on the sidelines, off the field, or after he scores.

Another side note: I heard something interesting about him by Steve Young. Steve was talking about that playoff game vs. the Packers in which TO was dropping passes left and right then finally scores on a really tough catch and is mobbed by teammates as he cries. Steve goes on to say how that game really changed who he was into what he's become. It seems as if that moment where he became emotional was something he didn't want others to see and he morphed into the player we see today. Bottom line, TO is a hyper-sensitive, selfish player who needs to be stroked and cottled more than the average athlete. I don't know how Saban feels about dealing with that.
