Lot of "IF's" but this team could surprise a LOT of people "if" a few things happened.

These are just my top 3 and I will explain a little........
#1 Beck becomes a respectable QB(Like it or not right now John Beck is all that we have to hope for as our future star at QB)
#2 Ronnie Brown Stays Healthy(Ronnie is a beast and as much as he's been injured he's still FAR more reliable than Ricky Williams, and I just don't think Lo-Book is an every down back)
#3 We draft Jake Long(Our O-line could go from horrible to very good just from this one move. Leaving a HUGE hole at OT would be the biggest mistake this new regime could make, and lets not kid ourselves the drop off between Jake and whoever is there at #32 or later will be BIG)
.....Basically if we end up having a very good offensive line(Jake Long) our rush attack will dominate some games, and if Beck even ends up being a decent QB this year our offense will win us some games.......

Now those are just my top 3 but there are a lot of others......

-IF Ted Ginn Improves on last season and turns out to be the big time gamebreaker we drafted him for.
-IF Ernest Wilford excels as the big possesion WR
-IF The the front 7 on our defense improves on their HORRIBLE play against the run
-IF Yerimiah Bell Stays healthy and continues to improve and plays the whole year(we could actually have a very good safety tandem if both of these happen)
-IF Jason Taylor doesn't finally start to show his age
-IF We are not riddled by injuries again
-IF We have a good draft and add some impact players(Other than just our #1 overall)

We can hope and pray that all of this happens but the odds of that are probably not very good. A couple of them I feel fairly confident about(I think Ginn will improve, and the Defense will be better vs. the run.... they almost have to) but the rest of it IDK and it just scares the heck out of me. Injurie's are what scares me the most because Ronnie is really our star player and Bell is a very good safety who just can't ever seem to stay on the field and in no way shape or form do I ever want to see Cameron Worrel starting on this defense again.

Anyway, Discuss...... which ones are you the most confident will happen, or which ones are the most important in your opinion to a succesful season.

well in point number 1 we still got mccown to, the job isnt becks right now, its beck and mccowns, IMO, i dont like beck or mccown, and i dont like ryan, so i rather just take a later QB in the later rounds and hope he pans out

I would be a little worried about Ronnie staying healthy. But generally I think you are right about the line and your overall thoughts. We still need another guard, but I think some viable starters will be available after june 1. I have made my feelings about Ted Ginn well known, he will be a star! Im tellin ya

You are absolutely right !!!!!!!!
Those are a lot of "IF's" !
If all those "if's" happen, it would be a good year. However, if those "if's" start to not happen, one by one, it will cost us on the field and we could be right back here next year drafting in the top 5. If some of the if's happen, but not most, then we are probably talking maybe around a .500 season. The biggest "if" we need to be concerned about right now is the "drafting well through most of the draft this year". If we draft guys who are not going to make/stay on this team for at least several years if not longer, then we are in big trouble.

well..... I will go on record and say we will be a much better team than last season.
there is a new attitude and demeanor around here. that alone will make this team better.
the D can't get any worse, and Ginn almost has to improve. You can't do anything about
the injuries. We'll have 'em.... every team does, but just by Parcells and company now here,
there will be a swagger around here that we have not seen in quite some time.

This is the only thing I don't agree with because Chris Long was far more dominant as a DE/OLB than Jake was as a LT. Too many talented LT's in this draft to say no to who I think will make at least 4 pro bowls and possibly make it to the a Hall of Fame when it's said and done with and I'm referring to Chris Long on that one. Chris Long is dominant and Jake's just very good. Very good LT's are easier to find than dominant DE/OLB's. As for everything else you said, I totally agree

Jason Allen improves, draft or sign (don't know who is left) a corner that is decent, interior D-Line is solid (FA and draft picks). Biggest if is John Beck. That will be huge if he turns out to be a good QB:)

Like I said in another thread, its a new year, anything can happen

Not in my eyes. Jake pretty much dominated his whole 4 years in College, Chris Long didn't do as well until his Sr. Season. I'd also say very good LT's are NOT easier to find than DE's/OLB's. We've had several very good DE's over the last 10 years but how many quality LT's have we found???
