A lot of you guys........

if they are going to fill that seat it should have been Kim Bokamper or no one...Bob is a fin for life but what made mad dog so great aside from his infectious passion for the fins was the fact that he would call them out when they screwed up just as well as talk them up when they did poorly.

Mad dog was the ultimate fan and he took these games personally, I dont see Bob doing that...
 
i say we get brian griese. then mid game he gets replaced by jay fiedler
 
Announcers get paid to announce. They shouldn't be allowed to make mistakes as simple as calling someone Zach Taylor. That's ridiculous
 
They should have left Mad Dog's chair empty for the season then brought someone in next.

Nothing he does as a senior citizen diminishes what he accomplished for the Miami Dolphins or his image. He is still the only QB in Dolphin history to bring this team championships...he is a hall of famer.

You both keep reffering to his play as a dolphin (which no one is arguing with), but this has nothing to do with him as an announcer. I'm sorry, but he is not a good announcer, regardless of being "field general" when he played.

Why are you apologizing. He is one of the worst announcers to ever dawn a microphone. He has no business calling pro games.
 
Griese,overated as a player ? Helllllllllllllllllll noooooooooooooooooooo !!!!! As someone said,he was an absolute field general and led the team and was a very accurate passer,and as someone else said one of my all time favorite Dolphins !!! And as someone noted,Bob did indeed call his own plays and I still remember the day he threw,either 6,or 7 touchdown passes against the Cardinals and smoked them.

He deserves the hall of fame as he most definitely was one of the best QB of his era, with some great QB's in that day,Bradshaw,Stabler,Staubach,I would even love to have Bob today,of course I mean at a young age,over most QB's out there.

As far as his broadcasting skills, I have watched him in college football booth,and the man always brought insight into the plays and what the QB should be doing,thinking,and his insight has always been spot on. Bob may not know the Dolphins players yet,but thats to be expected,its going to take him time,but give him time,he will learn the players,and he will flat out tell you the details of the game and what should be happenning.
 
There aren't too many local team crews that measure up to the national guys. All are homers, all seem like it's their part time job... which it is.

give him time? he's been doing the preason for that past 21 years......?

Thats right,preseaon dude,pre-season,that means he's gone for the 16 regular season games,and is only here for a few preseason games,where players are coming and going like crazy. Hell,Jason Taylor was a Dolphin,wasnt a Dolphin,was a Dolphin again, I think,hell Ive followed the Dolphins since 1970 and half the time I get lost as to the comings and goings.

A full year getting to know the players and he will be fine, whats wrong with many of the ones who dont like him is the simple fact he knows the game,and they probably dont agree with many of his thoughts,but as I said before,Griese has forgotten more than ANYONE on here has ever known to begin with,and thats not a blow to members here,there are some very knowledgeable football fans on here,including me,but Griese was one of the smartest QB's to EVER play the game.
