Please take this thread with a grain of salt, and don't accuse me of spreading any bogus rumors / news. I'm merely the messenger here, and I don't want anyone to think that I made up this story. I would never do that....

On Sirius radio, local sports writer A. Marvez was just commenting on the Miami Dolphins Qb position. He said don't be surprised if Miami adds Qb T. Green, and that he and Lemon will battle it out for the starting Qb position this off-season. He concluded that if Green is signed, that Culpepper would likely be on the way out as a result....

Like I said, this is merely taken from a local sports writer, if there's any real truth to it remains to be seen. If it's not true, A. Marvez is the one who should be held responsible, not me. Just trying to cover my *** here because right now is the time when many rumors are spread. Just take it with a grain of salt. Thanks....

Blitz, you've done a good job reporting this story for those of us who are out of town. If the Dolphins do bring in Green, it makes sense that Cpep would be on his way out. You wouldn't have both of them competing. If you do bring Green, somebody better get drafted for the future.

To me, just the fact that we were or are considering Green, throws up a big red flag on what the staff may think about Culpepper.

I guess we will see soon enough.

heres the problem. YOUR title is misleading. and putting it all on A. Marvez when all he said was "dont be surprised if", is lame. now if he said i gaurantee it will happen, OK then.

Can't say I'm too excited about that idea.

I think when I first heard about the Trent Green flirtations, my immediate conclusion was that if Green ends up in Miami, Culpepper's out. The roles are too similar, the money too significant.

Some journalist mentioned that Green and Culpepper could battle it out while we allow Cleo to leave as an RFA but he's 2nd round tendered and I see no teams jumping all over him for that price tag.

So IF Alex Marvez is convinced Green will end up a Fin, then the logical conclusion is a Culpepper release.

On the other hand what I think they're doing right now is setting up the deal and investigating the heck out of Green's concussion issues so that they can try and set up the expectations if Green were to come here, and that way they can evaluate the whole thing and say yay or nay. That's the right thing to do...but it doesn't mean it'll automatically happen.

I'm sorry if the title of this thread was misleading. Now that I think about it, I probably should have worded it differently. For that I apologize to everyone. Within the context, I tried to make it clear that we should take this with a grain of salt. I wouldn't purposely mislead anyone here. It was worded poorly I admit, and I'm sorry.....

Culpepper isn't going anywhere. It would be STUPID on our part to not even see what he can do this year.

Ck - If the whole thing does shake out and Green and Lemon are 1 and 2 and Culpepper is released, I'd imagine us drafting a QB for the future. Odds are Brady Quinn will be gone, so, just curious as to your opinion of who you think we'd add if the Culpepper release scenario plays out? My first thoughts would be Drew Stanton in the 2nd or Kevin Kolb in the 3rd, what's your take on it?

Trent Green has a huge salary, so does Duante. Can't keep both. We already gave up a # 2 for Duante, so what will we have to give up for Trent Green.
I am not in favor of trading for another QB. Lets build a solid line give Pepp another year and an OC that knows what he is doing.

your post is fine. your title just made it seem like it was foregone conclusion.

i would agree. problem is, me and you dont know the status of dauntes knee. i really really want him to work out, but with so many rumors of green and quinn and etc., seems like he just may not.
