As our last years 2nd round pick (who was a bust anyway) sits filing a lawsuit against the fins a player picked 3 spots later had 249 receiving yards with a journeyman QB. Jeffery is exactly what the team needs, the pick Sunday against the jets never would of happened if Jeffery was on the receiving end, at 6' 3" and 216 lbs he would of challenged for the ball which is something our small WR's fail to do. The bears Alson Jeffery within a couple years will make Marshall irrelevant, mark it down.

We have had alot of draft misses but this one may be the worse in recent history. Imagine Tannehill and Jeffery long term in Miami.

Jon Martin is a miss because his actions have attempt to derail a season for this FO, staff, teammates and fans.

Martin is a snake.

Only a fool trips over what's behind them.

This game of who should have been picked can be played by any team at any time. I'm sure all 31 teams would have liked Hartline better than one of their first 3+ rd picks. 31 teams would have like Brady after passing on him many many times over. Drafts are educated guesses. While it is a shame Ireland is better at late round picks than 2nd round, we need to understand that nobody could have known that Martin was going to advance a personal agenda/vendetta.

well Jeffery is the type of WR that our offense is lacking, so is Brandon Marshall but that's another story entirely.

Again though, if you go by value Martin was a good pick at the time. Hindsight is 20/20 though

Eh. Martin is a miss because he's not a very talented player ...like far too many other picks Ireland has made. Unlike some around here that were praising Martin's position skills while at the same time minimizing the need for o-line talent, I said back in preseason I didn't like going into the season with Martin starting at LT. We need smarter people making personnel decisions for this team.

No draft is ever perfect... 31 other teams missed on Olivier Vernon, Charles Clay etc...

Proof of how bad Martin is how the line improved since he bolted the team.

We needed a tackle, one was picked and it didn't turn out good. I liked the OL pick, not necessarily Martin but it would of should of filled a huge need.

You can't do this, please these threads only worsen the pain! ahhhh! No seriously, these threads are pointless, the past is the past and there is nothing we can do about it now. Draft is hit or miss and we aren't the only team that's missed before.

Love the "hindsight is 20/20" argument. Some of us knew passing on receivers that year would bite us in the ass even before the 2012 draft started. Some of us knew the folly of drafting need over talent. Some of us knew we could improve our line in ways other then over drafting offensive lineman. And lo and behold, all of those things happened(although the line is still crap, though less crap since the knuckleheads left). I expect our paid general manager to come to the same conclusions.

When we pass on talented players at skill positions every single year its not a "well thats just hindsight" thing. Its a pattern of incompetence. 2010 we drafted John Jerry over Jimmy Graham. 2011 we drafted Daniel Thomas over Randall Cobb. 2012 we drafted Jon Martin over Alshon Jeffery(not to mention Michael Egnew over TY Hilton). 2013 we drafted Dallas Thomas over Marquise Goodwin(and refused to trade up a few spots for a falling Keenan Allen, which i was pleading for us to do). Year after year, Ireland gonna Ireland. And just for good measure, despite all those picks, the line is still poor.

Sometimes you are judged by the things you dont do. And theres more then enough evidence available for people to draw the conclusion that our general manager just doesnt have it in him to make the right choices.
