Wow, this guy goes for the jugular:

"Today is October 17th – the trade deadline for the 2006 NFL season.

I bring that up because it means that there are only a few hours left to rectify the biggest mistake the Miami Dolphins made this year – the acquisition of Daunte Culpepper.

Personally, I don't care what the Dolphins get for Culpepper. I'd be happy if they traded him for a mocha latte and two tickets to a Miami Heat game. I just think that the Dolphins should move him along because I don't believe, at this point, that he will ever return to being the player he was in 2004.

Culpepper has a great arm and amazing athletic ability, but after seven and a half years in the league, he takes too long to make up his mind and doesn't have good pocket presence. Those things will not change, even if he manages a full rehabilitation of his knee.

Right now, Joey Harrington is the better choice. While his stats don't clearly show it, Harrington has demonstrated better mobility, quicker decision making and better pocket presence. His arm is at least as strong as Culpepper's right now and he's more accurate. There is no area of quarterback responsibilities where Culpepper is better than Harrington right now – or is likely to be in the near future."

He makes a good point, If we are going to get anything for Daunte it would be now while it's still relatively unknown if Daunte's career is over as opposed to later if it's proven. However as unlikely as it is there is a chance Daunte regains his old form so I dont see that ever happening.

So you're not exactly a Daunte supporter then? WHile I agree Joey is the answer NOW, Daunte is our future and you might as well get used to the idea. Daunte should be fine once he gets healthy, yet I'm not sure Joey isn't the better QB, but DC's going nowhere. You'll just have to buy your own latte.

Hey, I'm just sharing an article. If I have to choose between Daunte or Joey, I take Joey. But I would love to see Daunte come back next year and kick some butt. It doesn't matter which guy, as long as one of them gets the job done.

why do you say this? saban too stubborn to admit daunte was a mistake? If your right and it turns out that daunte is washed up hanging on to him, may cost saban his job.

As nice as it would be to have DC return to football-ready health, I don't see it happening. Besides, a healthy knee doesn't affect poor decision-making ability. And I don't think he'll get his mobility back. I would love to be proven wrong about this, but I don't think I will be. It was a mistake to sign him, pure and simple.

agreed...trade daunte for anything...lets get our second rounder back...please

your right harrington is the better choice but a stronger arm no that's not true

I'm not so against the idea of trading Culpepper. Quite honestly, Harrington is better. Culpepper's best days are in his readview mirror and I have a feeling he'll never see those days again. HE just isn't very good. All of his flaws have been exposed.

Can we please stop beating this dead horse? Culpepper is our guy when he recovers to full health, and Harrington is keeping the show running in his stead. Period, end of story.

I think you'll have trouble of finding a team crazy enough to trade for Culpepper....he's damamged goods....and until he's healthy....no one is going to touch him. Perhaps next year.

Don't be so sure about that.

i said the same thing after week 3 but it aint gonna happen. we should be banned from ever trading a 2nd rd pick for a qb again. a 3rd ok. a 1st fine. a 2nd for a OT fine. but qb and 2nd rd never
