I was a big fan of Adam Gase, but now he is gone.

There are other changes going on. I will be interested to see how the Dolphins re-establish the coaching and the front office. This time the only horse I have in this race is the team itself. I will be looking forward to seeing as much improvement as possible with a new draft and free agency coming up, along with a new philosophy of play from the coaching staff. I recognize this may take some time.

My only negative response to the changing situation is that players who publicly bad mouth their old coach after their abysmal play and quitting on the field the last 3 games get traded or cut. If they were bad for the old regime, I don't see them being reliable with a new one. This is all I'm going to say about those players quitting on the team. Performance counts and either they will perform well or not in the future. I personally hope our new coach can get more out of them then they have previously displayed. Lets face it. No one likes their team to lose, but not everyone is in a position to help prevent it like they were.

Today represents a new beginning, and I am looking forward to the growth that will propel us to a Superbowl by 2020. If we get there sooner, I won't be the one complaining!

Glad to see you’re sticking around.

Did the players quit over the last few weeks, or did the coach? It's really easy to blame the players, but I don't think Mike Gesicki called the plays that asked him to block Jerry Hughes and Danielle Hunter one-on-one multiple times over the past few weeks.

The bottom line is that this coach and his staff had no idea how to put their players in positions that worked to their strengths. It was the same inadequacies, repeated over and over again.

Something that we’ll never know went terribly wrong with Gase’s relationships with players, FO and Ross himself. No doubt change had to be made though once again its not a clean sweep as I’d hoped for. At least the organizational flowchart is finally set correctly.

In trying to find reasons to be optimistic with Grier being promoted is between Tbaum, Gase and Grier, Grier had the least say of the three. Pretty slim pickings but its a start. I will say that I’m willing to sacrifice 2019 by trading or releasing bad contracts or vets with high cap numbers to load up picks for a good QB class in 2020 and cap space to bring in young hungry FAs.

I don’t trust this organization to get it right but I can hope.

I felt I had to vent because I've observed this bad attitude by players throughout the league when teams aren't doing well. I really don't like those kind of "fair weather" players and I'm convinced we had some.

Now that I've gotten it off my chest I feel relieved. For me, at this point it is water under the bridge. I really am looking forward to our new beginning to see how we achieve greatness. I expect nothing less, just like I felt the last three years.

I know you are a big Gase fan Ray but hope that you stay around as the next chapter begins. I enjoy reading you bro. Happy new year.

Thanks.

The perfectionist in me says I need to wait for tomorrow to start the new year, but I'm starting to feel good about this change so I'll start now.

I'm relieved, too. To me, Gase was in over his head from Day One. I never understood the hiring. His record didn't match the rhetoric.

Jarvis Landry hit up his Twitter with four smiley faces after the canning of Gase...

He earned those emoticons because Gase painted Landry in an unfavorable light, as he did Ajayi...then signs Sitton who was cut from Green Bay for being the exact player Gase said he was getting rid of in Landry and Ajayi. I wish him no good luck, professionally. I look no further than none of the impactful voices in the locker room coming out in support of keeping Gase...

Then the Tunsil burner account...it was time for Gase to "exit stage left": :out:

I feel your pain. I am 53, a fan since 1971. I can't quit even though it is a yearly painful journey. I was a big Gase fan at first but his unwillingness to change, cutting any player that got in his way, arrogance and just putting out a poor product was just too much. All we have is hope. The Tunsils, Fitzpatricks and hopefully the Howards will be a foundation we can build on.

Maybe their play was abysmal because the coach didnt know how to use them? Mr. Davis should have been banned for offensive line play in four countries but he continued to suit up week after week.

Ballage was praised for his practice but rarely got touches.

Even though Fitz was a multi tool he was not used properly.

I can tell from the Ross presser that he was not impressed with Cutler, Asswiler, Quinn, or even Gore although Gore was a positive. I beleive Stephen message is that the NEW Dolphins roster will be filled with you blood after the PURGE.

Good Luck Miami! Hiring a new F.O. is such a crapshoot as with the drafting process. Hopefully, we'll be able to put together something competent that will deliver some meaningful results.
