I've read somewhere that Saban & Co. are interested in David Givens from New England.
Since he's only 25yrs old, I personally think it would be great if they sign him.
I wonder how getting a David Givens would effect Chris Chambers now that he's getting his recognition?
Also read that Nick is interested in Florida receiver Chad Jackson (possible draft pick) another fine choice if you ask me.

I don't know why Booker wouldn't reamain. I'm sure he would restructure his contract to help the cap. I like Booker and he's a probowl WR. Now if we were to make a significant upgrade to the WO position then I'd say yes.

We do need to add another receiver. I'd rather see us draft somebody or atleast stay young. I really want the future of our team to be like cincy's offense, where they have a young stud qb(palmer) and a young stud receiver(johnson). I'm against signing T.O because we need youth and guys to develope on offense. Chad Jackson is a good looking prospect, but i hope we dont draft wr in the first. If he's there in the 2nd(highly unlikely imo) i'd jump on that. I would also like to see Gibson and how he has developed on the practice squad.

I don't think it will affect Chambers, but it definitley will affect Booker. Chambers is the no.1, but Givens and Booker will most likely compete in camp for the no.2 spot. Whoever wins, I still think it could be good. Saban said that the offense won't be changed much, so Mularkey will probably use 3 WR sets also. Miami needs another no.3, I know Welker did good, but he can't take to much punishment and he's needed much more as a punt/kickoff returner than WR. Givens as a no.3 or Booker as a no.2 or vice versa would creat a lot of mismatches.

Haven't seen to much of Gibson, wasn't there a lot of hype about him in college?

Yeah, being a Gator fan since I don't know when, I've seen him play and I definitely think he could windup being a sleeper pick.

Sad but I was hoping David Boston would return to form and be the number 2 receiver. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

I haven't seen much of him either(didnt play for us in the preseason) He was a 4th rd. pick last year that we picked up off waivers. I know he has some talent, and a nice 6'4 body frame(real slim though) Hopefully he can get healthy and show the coaches something so he can get a chance to contribute.

Yeah, the guy has stupid potential. To bad he was givin a set of knees too....

"Uh, yeah, let me trade these two knees for that pair of giant biceps, please..." :boohoo:

Maybe coach Saban should take Mark Duper up on his offer to be the
receivers coach. He may be able to help guys like Givens and improve
Chambers route running.

Just fyi, Fred Gibson is currently rehabing from ankle surgery.
