A CBSSports.com report that the Miami Dolphins had decided to move on from Ndamukong Suh after this season set the team into a tizzy on Sunday.

It provoked tense calls between the team and reporters -- some getting yelled at, some asking for confirmation on the controversial report. Ultimately that led to a strong and rare on-the-record rebuke of the report directly from the team.

So, no, the Dolphins have definitely not decided to move on from Suh after this season. No, owner Stephen Ross is not demanding that the player he referred to in 2015 as being “like a son” be released next offseason.

The report was wrong.

Surprise, surprise...LaConfora was wrong again. Freakin fat liar.

Everybody with half a brain knows that Suh will be playing for the Miami Dolphins next year. His cap number when with the Dolphins will be 26 million, his dead money if released pre 1st of June would be 22. From salary cap perspective only, not even factoring in how good a player he is, it would be insane to not have Suh on the team next year.

Yup. By all accounts Suh has not been a locker room problem after getting Joe Philbin rousted, and is getting on well with the coaching staff. Why would you cut an All-Pro DT that is not causing problems when your savings is a measly 3.9 million on the cap?

Now, after 2018, that might be another story. :(

Failure is an art form, and BIG Jay proves that every time he gives us NFL Information. If Jason La Confora said it...probably not true.

i don't think JLC has ever been right about anything he has reported on this team. he definitely has some blind hatred for the franchise, i wonder who on this team slept with his wife/gf to cause this.

He had Grimes coming here-That’s about it-probably cause his
loud mouth wife Miko told him.

This would be a good draft to find a legitimate replacement. Lots of good defensive tackles. But, with the offense needing almost a complete rebuild, I think Miami goes offense most of the way.

You can still release Suh anytime before June 1st and designate him as a June 1st cut. That would result in a $17 million cap savings. I'm not saying we will but it's not out of the question from a monetary standpoint.

That's true. If you cut him and designate him a post-June1 cut, your 2018 cap savings would be 17 million. However, you would have 13 million of dead money on your 2019 cap. In my opinion, 2018 is not the year you can cut Suh. 2019 is the earliest.
