there is alot of negativity with saban leaving and other things about our team, but here is some positve news.

1)we are 17.8 million under the cap, but by cutting: carter, james, mckinney, joey, anderson, maxwell and kimble we could save roughly 20 more million dollars and thats not including restructuring chambers 7 million and other contracts. so we could be potentially 40 mill under! and all we need to resign is holliday, bell, lemon, welker, jones and maybe barnes and they wont be hard to resign. so we WILL have money to go after some big name free agents! i was mad after the colts game and talked about rebuilding and starting over but we have some money, we just need to do the right thing with it, and this team could be decent next year. maybe build the o-line up in free agency and get some playmakers in the draft!

2)we have good draft position! #9 is great we get a top player but dont have to pay huge money, jarrett would be sweet at #9 imo then we could cut/trade booker and save another 3mill. chambers, jarrett, welker, hagan sounds good to me! (i would not have a prob keeping booker if we did not draft a wr, he had a decent year)

3) there are not that many HC jobs open so if saban does go than we can get a good coach, losing saban is not the end of the world other people can coach football and probably better.

4) cpepp and ricky will be back, some people say thats not a good thing but i want to see a healthy cpepp and IF ricky wants to be here he can help.

stay positive fin fans its hard i know, i sometimes think we should start from scratch but things will get better they have to. free agency starts in 2 months and the draft is right around the corner! get ready there is only one way to go ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

$40 million would be good cause $20 million is only good enough for 18th in the NFL as far as cap room goes. I think the 49ers are first with $42 million.

I wonder if Ricky will want to be here now that Saban is gone. Saban was the one that convinced him to come back.

It doesn't matter if Ricky wants to be here. He WILL be here, as per a contractual obligation. There are only two scenarios in which he won't be back: he pays Wayne the money he owes, or the NFL refuses to reinstate him.

That money didn't seem to bother him the first time he left.

Nolefin, I agree with everything you said. The people talking about trading CC when his stock is as low as ever are nuts! If we could get even a 4th for Marty and draft DJ that would be huge. Love the optimism bro!

great post, good to see some positives, ill admit you got me excited....lets go fins, we can turn this ship around. think about some of the crap teams last year, their playing in the playoffs now, and not too long ago the bears were a laughing stock in this leauge, now their running the table almost, and getting bye weeks. we can do this guys....lets keep our chins up :)

go fins!!!

Finally I read some positive stuff. We do not have to care if saban goes... thats hes choice. You have to be a great one to be miami dolphims HC if he quits its beacuse he is not big for the job. Pardon my spelling I´mexican.... But a very big dolphins fan ince i remember ...thats Bob griese era, i lived entire marino era and sufer david wodley and ond fidler and company all the others
We will be back on the top... but we have to be positive. Our results will go at hand with our atitude. I f we have a nice one.... will have nice results.
So Go dolphins lets keep focus to be number one again and sooner or later we wil be back with saban or with out him!!!

thanks for the positive post, i think a lot of us needed that. I myself am also optomistic for next season, we wont be living with such high expectations however we will come out under the radar and i believe will have a strong year next season....much will change if nick does leave but in a way that brings a new sense of life to our football team and one which will hopefully be fun to watch. going into this offseason after our 6-10 record isnt so painful when you see in recent years how many loosing teams have gotten into the playoffs on the next season after... i know all of us dolfans would of never expected the jets to be the 5th seed in the afc playoffs right now nor would most expect the saints to be the 2nd seed in the nfc playoffs, both teams that had top 5 draft picks last season. a quick turn around is very possible and i personaly am starting to see with a new head coach in might be more likely in that a new guy can bring in a new spark in which saban apparently hasnt been able to create in his two non playoff seasons with our team

There are lots of good things, but we also have to be realistic.

If saban leaves we will likely enter a real rebuilding mode. We will have some good cap space, a high draft pick status, and a new coaching regime who will want to bring in their own players.

Honestly, if we get a new coach I dont see us relying on CPep coming back. Ricky is a mystery and cannot be counted on (even if he does come back).

Our defense is getting old, and our best 2 players will be retiring soon.

That said, we have some good young talent, and with the right coach we can get moving in a good direction.

At this point, I dont care about playoffs next season. That would be nice, but i just want to see some SOLID play game in and game out. I want to see players going at it hard, with a sense of urgency. I want to see intelligent game planning, I want to see indications that our future is bright. Id be happy enough with that and then in 3-4yrs we can talk SB.

Now that Saban has revealed his true nature getting him the hell away from the team is extremely positive news for our dolphins.

#3. I have been saying that since week two. And you have been arguing with me. We'll get a good coach. A better coach. And I bet its Jim Haslett.

#2. I think thats too high to pick Jarrett. Not to mention, we need Olinemen. If Long and the LT from PSU are still on the board at #9, I think we should try to trade down and land one of those guys later in the first round. If they are both gone later, then we can still pick up a WR, LB, or DB in the first round, and address the Oline in the second.

"I'd rather lose with Saban than win with any other coach."

a TRUE FAN, 2006

Obviously you're moving to Alabama. Good luck with the losing.

go read the article on one of the reason why Saban might leave and see how positive you feel about the future of this team. Saban does not want to be the Fins coach because he does not think that this team can be successful...he does not think that the players are good...he wants to quit before the ship sinks...and get out now...not next season...plus he has a good offer right now from Alabama...oh and his wife does not like Florida...go figure.

i can't believe this $hit. I hope he leaves at this point...I for one don't want him back.

Go Fins!!!
