This is an older article I came across this today, about hand size. Maybe I forgot, I don't know, but Ryan Tannehill has smaller hands than most other QB's.

These are his hands in comparison to some QB's I randomly looked up. I didn't list Manning, Brady, Favre, etc, because I googled their names but their hand size didn't appear, other than mentions that they do have large hands. I would think gloves would help too though. I notice he doesn't wear them.

Brees 10.25
Wilson 10.25
Luck 10.00.
Donavan McNabb 10.00
David Carr 9.75
RGIII 9.50
Jay Fiedler 9.50
Alex Smith 9.37
Geno Smith 9.28
Kevin Kolb 9.25
Trent Dilfer 9.00 (and 5/8)
Kaepernick 9.00(and 1/8)
Ryan Tannehill 9.00
Michael Vick 8.50

Interesting i think hand size is the main reason some fumble and some don't. He has had fumbling issues.

I've been on the peninsula in the winter when it's been pretty damn cold, and also more than brisk some summer days with the wind blowing.

Looks like Trent Baalke needs to get on the horn and trade Kaep for Geno Smith or David Carr before it all falls apart. Can't hurt to sign Kevin Kolb as a back up either as I suspect he's got some free time.

There are QB coaches who won't take a QB with smaller than 9 inch hands.. it's a big factor in AFC North.. you play a lot of games in bad weather and every stadium in the AFC North is outdoors.

It's an interesting stat and it makes sense that larger hands equal better ball security but going by that alone makes U of M QB Morris a top pick. He most certainly is not.
It's just one consideration i would think and a fun stat to look at.

I remember people used to knock Moore for having tiny hands but I can't find the size. It's interesting and I think there is probably something to it but there isn't enough info out there right now to draw any concrete conclusions.

Gravity would say, "the size of the hands multiplied by the derivative of his completion percentage after the equinox means that Ryan Tannehill is a worse person than Vladimir Putin."

So glad we don't have to deal with that **** any more. His finger prints probably add into the equation somewhere for better grip lol

This may sound like a humble brag but I used to be a pretty decent QB in my day, played a little in college and from my perspective hand size is a legitimate attribute. Not from just a ball control/fumbling perspective but from a ball delivery, passing point as well. All things being equal, give me a QB with large mitts every time. Drew Brees has some Hulk hands which also explains why he and Russel Wilson are able to thrive as passers despite their less than ideal height. Thanks for posting this, OP!
