How long should the first team be on the field in game #3 of the preseason?

I say up to halftime, that's it. You?

One half. And if they put up some points take em out.

Most teams like to give their starters that first drive after the half, just to get them back familiar with the routine in a real game . . . so I'd expect us to defer if we win the toss and then give the starters a half and the first drive of the third quarter.

Yep. In the third preseason game it's all about going in at halftime, making adjustments, coming out in the third quarter and implementing them (as rudimentary as they might be). That's why it's called the dress rehearsal for the regular season.

If I were coach - Ryan TH would not play. Other starters would sit too - Pouncey, Jawan James, both starting tight ends...

Its a fallacy that they "need" it...and we are risking injury...

One of those players go down and Philbin risks everything with his rigid, stylized stubbornness...

Its one of the weirdest diseases of coaching at all levels - coaches get into doing something and they invent these arbitrary rules and stick to them at their own and the team's detriment - like holding a rookie out because he's a rookie - not drafting La' el Collins because the league inventing some jackass unwritten rule - playing your irreplaceable players because your supposed to play in the 3rd pre-season game. Philbin is politically correct in these ways - and I for one will not forgive him one iota if any of our big time players gets injured in a more serious way...NOT AT ALL!

One or two drives after half time. It's pretty much the NFL standard. I just say get in score some points and get out without injury.

I think RT should be benched because the issues the left side of the line is facing. That is all I care about right now.
