I haven't been on Finheaven since 10:30am yesterday so I don't know if this was covered. Yesterday I went to the Sportz Bar (after I was told twice that the game would be on) only to be dissapointed that the game wasn't going to be on. I have DTV and I was planning to watch the game today if it wasn't on at the Sports bar so I left with about 7 min. remaining in the first after I couldn't take all of the play-by-play updates. My question is did they ever get to show it on the satellite? I for one was dissapointed that they told me they would definititely have the game on when in fact they weren't sure.

I live in SJ and I almost drove an hour and a half to The bar in the Ramada Conference Center in NNJ, becuase I was told by two different employees that THE GAME WOULD BE ON! The so called great Dolphin sports bar and they bare faced lied to me knowing they were not going to get the game I would never step foot into that scubag place we are hardcore Fin fans and all they care about is the money they make If they would have said we don't know for sure we can get the game the would have been the correct move because they did not know for sure the game would be on. They are damn lucky I did not drive up there, the only reason I did not make the trip was a last minuet delay! If they are reading this....YOU GUYS ARE SKUM BAGS!

I don't work for the bar, but I'm there every week watching the game. I was surprised they told people they were sure they would have it, just because the signal would not be broadcast until 1 hour before gametime. (I posted this on here as late as the morning before the game). However, they had the necessary satellite that would have the only chance to pick it up, and experts from the company on-hand in the morning to check the connections and make sure the coordinates were correct. They did everything possible to get the game, and from what I've heard from other sources it was not possible to get due to the NFLs encryption. Mike was a nervous wreck when he couldn't get the game, but we made the best of the situation and had about 100 people partying outside listening to the game on Sirius. Someone already posted photos from the event.

The manager of the bar, 'Miami Mike' is a hard core fan. He's at training camp every year, and usually goes to at least 2 games every season. He's already planning the bus trip for all of us to Canton next August. We have 20-30 hardcore fans there every week to see the game and cheer on the team.

We were all disappointed that the game wasn't on, but there was no malicious intent or greed involved, and they certainly aren't 'Skum Bags' (sic). You don't have to set foot in there again, but don't disparrage the people and place you don't know anything about. It's a great place to watch the games, a great atmosphere, and has great fans -- a rarity up here in Jets land.

i was there... they never got it on, which i dont fault them for as i knew it would be difficult if the NFL/CBS didn't want other regions to be able to see the game.

However, i agree, don't make promises you can't keep... simply say "we are going to do everything we can to get the game on" but no, they guaranteed 100+ dolphans that were there that the game WOULD DEFINITELY BE ON. In fact, even when i got there i asked the guy they call miami mike if they were all good to go for the game and he said yea.

then as 1:00 rolled around we had nothing, and after about 20 minutes or so we finally got an update on the satellite situation... which was that they were still working on it.

the only saving grace for the place was that someone had sirius satellite radio in their truck so everyone huddled around it and listened outside on a beautiful day.

Nonetheless it was an entirely disappointing trip to a bar i was excited to see, thought the place was nice, had a good set up, and the dolphin/nfl memoribilia was cool... but simply don't make promises you can't keep, we knew it was going to be tough to get, we knew it wasn't being shown elsewhere, so he wasn't losing business or anything... instead they lied, got us there and got money for the food/drinks we had ordered leading up to the game when in fact the majority of those people would never have shown up if the game wasnt guaranteed. Used the dolphans for money by guaranteeing the game

and then the owner goes and says "it's not my fault, don't be mad at me, this is still the home of the dolphins, blah blah blah..."

it's not your fault we didnt get the game, but it's your fault we drove our asses a good way and paid way too much for subpar food all the while being guaranteed the game would be on.

needless to say, as nice as i thought the place was, after being used, myself and the 5 people i was with will never return there.

where are the pictures posted???I had a great time there....and I'll make the hour long trip every week to watch the games ...

if any one knows where i can find the photos of yesterday i would appreciate it.thanks

No malicious intent? Lying is malicious intent, I don't know how far you live from the Bar but I live a long ways away, and all I read and the calls I made were all about the game was going to be on for sure! They lied from the start because the only way they could know FOR SURE the game would be on was an hour before kick off and I called at about 12:30 and both employees said the game was definetly going to be on....bare face lie! There is your maliscious intent! 100 fans out in the parking lot and Mike whatever his name is was rining the register and making money with no game to watch, If he had said the game might not be televised probably no one would have shown up. So the guy makes a killin on both days (Saturday and Sunday) skumbags would steel from ther own kind and he lied to the Fin fans and then made money off of them SKUMBAG IS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS! :shakeno:

I agree, I left at halftime because

1- I knew the fins would not win, when the defense gives up a 50 yard run, you know they've been on the field too long and it will result in a loss

2- Because this guido Miami Mike was out there giving free food out to 2 people at an event that he should have been giving free food and drinks to to every dolphins fan there for his screw up and blatently false promises. However many beers I ordered before the game I walked out on without paying the tab because I traveled 45 minutes to the game and I did not intend on paying when I was promised a game I didn't get...

But enough of this woe is me crap, I feel bad for the people who travelled from baltimore after being promised the game.....that father and his poor kids must have been devistated... that's a 2.5 hour drive....

I will NEVER go back to that establishment, or lack there of, EVER again.

Read my post here about why the game wasn't on.

The place I went to (jocks and jills), they gave us our drinks and food for free then gave us sodas to go. It was the first time I had gone there, they really tried hard to get the game on and were really nice about everything. They didn't promise the game was going to be on though, they just said if it was broadcasted they would have it.

That was my point, just tell the fans we will TRY to get the game this gives the customer the chance to decide if it will be worth it to drive for hours for nothing, instead the Bar clearly lied and then took advantedge of it. From what I'm reading I'm not alone here. I think calling him a SKUMBAG is fair!

Couldn't have said it better myself.
