A few questions...

As of this very moment, what is our cap situation? Are we still over or right on the ball?

Should the new CBA deal go through, where would we be?

If the deal does not go through, how much would we have to sacrafice to nab brees, or would the deal for Brees be dead at that point?

Thanks in advance

gotta hope it goes thru. didnt clumpy just make an updated cap post today?

I believe currently we are about $4-5 million over the cap. If a deal goes through, we will be about $5 million under the cap. The good thing about the CBA is that we can restructure Taylor's contract to save $7 million. Without a CBA, the most we can save from him is about $1 million. Realisticly, we could be close to $15 million under the cap with a few restructures and by releasing Frerotte and Seau.

To get Brees without a CBA will be harder. Seau and Frerotte MUST be cut, and a few restructures.

Point is, a new CBA will give us a lot of freedom. If not, we will be hard pressed.
