ok if you did not know wes welker needed 114 yards to break ricky willams team record of 2,216 combined yards, and i am sure he knew how many yards he needed, and late in the 4th quarter he needed 9 yards to get the record, the pats kicked off and the ball bounced welker could have ran up got it and got his 9 yards but he let it roll out of bounds so the team could get better field position, that good field position led to 3 points. i was pissed at first but then i thought that guy is a team player!! wes even though you did not get the record you are still the man! thanks for a great year! wes welker= 2,208 total combined yards for the year!

damn great point man... I agree... didn't even realize he was that close...

I'm sure that Wes didn't realize he was that close. And I'm also sure that Welker doesn't care that he was that close. After all, most of his yards came on kickoff returns, which are much easier to come by than rushing yards.

yeah right, if you were a player in the nfl you would not keep up with your stats? i am sure he knew he was close.

lol youre right... who cares if youve worked your whole life to get this far.... something like that wouldnt matter at all to you...

I don't think he knew but even if he did I don't think he would care much really.

well i wouldnt say he worked his whole life to get the dolphins "most all purpose yard record"....but im sure he would have like to have gotten it....

Wes is a team worker and he knows that bringing some yards to his stats is nothing compared to being smart and let that football going out of bounds if the team wins position on the field.
He has showed his real team playing while guiding our troops during kr and pr, cheering Chris, Ronnie, Ricky, Randy and everyone else who put something in the field and most of all, he never stops of battling the opponent.

He worked his whole life to become a professional football player.... and yes, its nice to be rewarded in any way when you work that hard..........

He would have had it if Gus hadn't overthrown him five times today. I felt bad for the guy because, for the most part, Gus was on target. However, whenever he threw to Welker he seemed to float it over him or way out in front. Welker seemed upset about it all day. At one point I saw him mouth, "come on Gus."

good stat to know, good season wes and may you brign even more recieiving yards to us next year and in the future along with kick return yards

He let it roll out to gives us better field position...he probably wasn't thinking twice about it.

Wes had a great year.....he always gives it his all and even when Gus overthrows him he stretches out and makes a heck of an effort...unlike Randy McMike who seems to go into a funk and routinely drops the gimmes.
