:( Never has a season looked so bleak at the beginning. So rather than commiserate over the game, think about the similarities between Nick Saban and Al Pacino ( particularly Pacino's Godfather roles) I love watching his postgame conferences. He is so refreshingly intense. What fans dislike about losing coaches is excuses, cover-ups, weak attempts at humor. We want someone who is deathly serious. Watch Godfather 1 & 2,and think of Nick, you'll feel better!

I don't know about "bleak" quite yet, but Sabans press conferences are classic to watch, whatever the news may be.
His expressions are the stuff of Brando, Caan, Duvall and Pacino all rolled into one. By game five, we may well be seeing his impersonation of Pacino's "And Justice for All"

"I'm outa order, your outa order, my team's outa order, this whole freaken league is outa order!"

If you are going to compare Saban to Pacino you have to mention "Any Given Sunday". Heck, it was even a Miami team in the movie.
Of course the comparisons end there...there is no way our QBs can be compared to the HOF bound vet(d. Quaid) and super talented up and coming young QB(J. Fox) in the movie. Also, Huizenga is no where nearly as hot a team owner as Cameron Diaz

Good point. Fans don't like excuses and good CEOs don't offer them. Our team may be in the midst of an evolution but there is not an apologist at the helm. It hasn't been this way since Shula retired.

I remember on press conference after a snowy game in Buffalo that Shula's team played horribly. A reporter asked Shula if he thought the Dolphins had a hard time holding onto the ball because it was snowing. Shula snapped back, "It was snowing on their team too!"

No excuses...just results.
