It's my thread, so my point was that Big 12 QBs are NFL failures. Do you really need a list of Big 12 QB prospects? You don't know that Griffin, Tannenhill, Weeden, etc are out there? If I'd have known you needed a reference list, I would've helped you out

I am sure there are many other Conferences besides the Big 12 that have never had a QB go on to win a SB. You have to have a great team to win a Superbowl, and not just a great QB. USC has never had a QB start in a Superbowl....but the PAc-10 has had 9 QB-wins in a SB (Aikman, UCLA 3, Elway, Stanford 2, Plunkett, Stanford, 2, Rodgers, Cal 1, Rypien, Washington State, 1). It's just an anomaly.

There hasnt been any defense played at all in that league for several years now. Its tough to watch IMHO. Its not even really football anymore. Aside from the SEC, college football in general is difficult to watch.

It only compounds the fact that RG3 is a bad pick. Not only is he undersized and REALLY NOT NFL-READY, he comes from a conference with gimmicky offenses and even worse defenses. The people who say "he won't tuck and run like the rest!," are deluded. Once he gets a taste of NFL team speed on defense and gets crushed a couple times he'll be running for his life without ever looking downfield.

The NFL is a harsh reality for not only African-American QBs (save for Moon and some McNair) but Big 12 QBs as well. He's doubly-screwed, imo

By your wonderful rationale, no qb prospect is specific to the Miami Dolphins b/c they aren't Dolphins yet. There's 3 or so Big 12 QBs that are getting run in the media, and the main forum is rife with QB prospect threads.

No Big 12 QB has ever won the Superbowl as a starter, and only 2 have ever MADE it there--and both were backups, one was a transfer from Cal to Nebraska (Vince Ferragamo, 1979-80 Rams, Steve Grogan, 1985-86 Patriots)--and that was years before the Big 12 was even formed.

Bubble screen oriented offenses and passive defenses. Bubble screens thrive only when defenses don't bother to blow them up. This year only one Big 12 team -- Texas -- allowed fewer than 6.5 yards per pass attempt. The SEC had 8. In 2008 no Big 12 pass defense was below 6.6. The Big 12 has comfortably settled into a mindset that short passes will be tolerated and allowed to ramble. Consequently the quarterbacks have automatic cheap yards available and the little details aren't a concern.

Fans love to rip the Pac 12 but it's been a pro style league for decades, so not surprising it has produced so many top quarterbacks. It will be interesting to see what happens now that some gimmick coaches have filtered into the league at Washington State, Arizona State and Arizona. I suspect Mora Jr. will run a more traditional Pac 12 offense at UCLA. Heck, Kiffin ran plenty of bubble screens at USC last year, taking advantage of the terrific young receivers. Carroll never threw underneath to that extent.

I think people put too much emphasis on the college system when grading players in regards to how well their play will transfer over to the pros. Should it be a factor? Yes. However, there are many other things that I'd look at before the conference, system, etc.

Cclaiming that a QB is no good just because they play for the Big 12 is shortsighted and an overall lazy way of looking at a player.
