Lets start out with the lawn and how good it is to smell the fresh cut grass. Also take note that they took apart the Coolzone between both fields that Satan had installed. It makes it much easier the fans to see. Now if only they would start practicing on the field closest to the stands. That's the one thing I miss about Wanny. He seemed to like practicing on the field that gave the fans the best view.
ANOTHER THING IS THAT THESE PRACTICES ARE DONE IN THEIR UNDIES (shorts and tops) SO NO HITTING IS INVOLVED.
Lets just do some offense for now.
Can we start with the Qb's? I like the way Qb Coach Terry Shea gets on the Qb's to stop thinking and get rid of the ball. He was constantly all over Lemon and Hamdan until they did what was asked. I was thinking it might mess with accuracy but quite the opposite actually happened. Once he had them in rhythm, both Qb's passes were hitting W's in stride with much more efficiently.
Lemon got the ball out faster than Hamdon and I was real impressed with his play action. Not that it mattered much because they were basically playing catch, but they were crisp, and well disguised.
Hamdon impressed me with his deep throws. He throws a real nice spiral and gets the ball downfield fairly accurately. He's got a good arm. I know he's basically camp fodder but with only two Qb's working I thought I'd share that he is an interesting prospect. Nice size, good arm, and pretty accurate. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Running backs.
Ronnie looks to be in great shape and was making some nice cuts behind Schlesinger, who by the way, has some decent moves himself, and especially catching the ball.
Now after that we got to Rb's who are listed at 5'8''
Jesse Chatman is stocky, and looks to have pretty good vision
Patrick Cobbs is very interesting to me. He has some real nice cutbacks and some burst.
Wide Receivers
Booker, and Chambers are two players we're all familiar with so lets just leave it at that. Both practiced and did a fine job of playing catch.
Kelly Campbell was being used to stretch the field, and hurt some part of his foot midway thru practice. Nothing major at all, and he continued practice. He made a few nice catches.
Hakim was running most of the routes, and dropped one pass going over the middle. A nice pass too. He did make two nice catches in traffic while going across the middle and one nice deep catch on the sidelines.
Hagan impressed me the most. I love the way he finds the open soft spots in a zone and even in man he's real good at making a Cb bite to one side. He made a couple of nice catches that made it look easy because he was pretty wide open.
Vick lined up a few times against Lehan, and the two were going at it. He made a couple of nice catches in heavy traffic and with Lehan mugging him.
Offensive Line
Alabi was at LT during team drills. He has a nice first step, and man, he's got a little pop with his extra long arms. He was holding his own fairly well against Chase Page, but again, no real hard contact, undies, and no JT.
Carey was working some at LT in individual stuff. So we'll see how this pans out soon enough.
Liwienski was a LG
Hadnot was at Center. I gotta get on him a bit though. Not about his play but about the catch me shorts (short shorts) he was wearing. He needs to stop that right away. Not only are they out of style but when a 330 pound man is wearing them is pretty gross!!
Shelton at RG
Carey at RT was going against Roth a lot, and even man handled him to the ground once.
Ok thats a little teaser for everyone. Hope everyone enjoys, and if anyone has any questions feel free.
This is just the opinions of one person. Things could be seen totally different by another.
