With Grove at 6'4 300 lbs and Berger at 6'5 315 lbs do you see a pattern of bigger lineman? With Jake the Giant Long at 6'7 and Vernan carey at 350 lbs how do you think the average size of our o line compares with that of other Nfl teams?
 
Berger will never see the field HELL he may not even dress!!!
 
Our o-line is actually smaller then many other o-lines in the NFL. When you look at guys like Satele who weighs 295, Grove who is 305, Frye who is 305, Long who is 310, Smiley 310, Alleman 310, Berger 305-310 and you can see why. A 310 pound o-lineman is basically an average sized lineman by todays NFL Standards.
 
I've heard the published weight for Grove is incorrect and that he is actually around 315.

If this unit lives up to expectation, I believe the Orca-5 will be the standard that all other offensive lines compare themselves to by 2010

Carey is really listed at 350 lbs? What a fat lard. I've always though he was oddly proportioned....
 
Carey has been known since his UM days as the PanCake Monster, And if he Pancakes you on the playing field, you would walk away with a new appreciation for his size & athleticism, The guy has always rated among the top ten tackles & deserves your respect. United with Long we have the best BookEnds in the NFL. Carey will grow into a total monster & elite right Tackle with the Orca_5 in 2009.
They are two serious KillerWhales with insatiable appetites for opposition defensive player's. :(
 
Just like in boxing, a good big man will beat a good little man. Not that any of these guys are really "little". For linemen, I think bigger is better.

now i keep up with NFL players just not good with linemen are they good
