After this game it may appear that henne took a bit of a step backwards in his development as our starting QB but this wall that QBs sometimes hit happens all the time. There is not 1 QB that has not hit this when they were beginning their career. If anything the step back from henne may be seen as a step forward because he can take these mistakes made from the bills game and apply them and it will push him to work even harder.

Although this loss hurts let us remember this is still only the 2nd year of our rebuilding process. It can be plainly seen that the rookies have been improving every game including henne and the secondary. We should also take a look at the poise henne displayed in his TD pass in that game. It was simply a perfectly thrown ball that a young QB would not normally make.

I believe that this team will be a very balanced team in the years to come as henne develops through this season and the next. The only thing left that is holding henne back at this point is the unwillingness to take shots down field and keep the defense honest. once we can bring in a WR that can get that seperation it will make henne that much better and it will also give him confidence. It becomes a very tough thing to build confidence in an offense where you never can truly be confident that your WR will catch the ball.

Today was just a bit of a speed bump for him. If he had receivers that can actually catch the ball, chances are we wouldn't have been in desperation mode at the end.

Until Henne has some real weapons his grade will have to be "incomplete". All we know now is he has a live arm and can take a hit.

Everyone has bad games, i remember Brees one game almost broke the record for least yards per attempt and his rating was a .8 or something.

If he had an offensive coordinator that doesn't call a halfback pass on first and goal inside the 5, chances are we wouldn't have been in desperation mode at the end.

Although Henne will recover and be fine, we won't now his true ability until we play straight conventional offense, give him a decent group of receivers and start calling plays without setting him up for failure.

If you never make a mistake you'll never learn anything. Then again, some people never seem to learn from their mistakes. JaMarcus Russell comes to mind. But Chad Henne seems to have a good head on his shoulders and he makes smart decisions with the football more often than not. Give the kid a break. He's basically a rookie. Some of you are demanding perfection from this kid. And when you don't get it you flip out and demand Pat White or Tyler Thigpen.

Really?

C'mon. Say that out loud. Pat White. Tyler Thigpen.

We should be thankful for Chad Henne. Although his future is unknown, he has proven himself to be a decent rookie quarterback even when faced with very few options in terms of receiving (missed catches and limited play-calling). We could be in the position of the Jets, where rookie Mark Sanchez has thrown 17 interceptions and has cost his team more than one game despite having decent receivers like Edwards and Cotchery.

Other than some of his passes sailing too high, he has been pretty good, considering the recievers he has are not good, drop passes, etc...other than Bess, he does not have much to work with.

If he can learn to move around in the pocket more, to avoid the rush, and get more of the follow through with his delivery, he will be ok.

You ve got to give a 1st year starter at least a 1 season pass. If he looks like this the first 5 games next year then yes start the bust threads.

Buffalo played a great game, I have to give them that. They knew what was coming, we just quit and stop running the ball

Poor mechanics under pressure has nothing to do with the receivers. The wide receivers had a very good game. They was always a receiver open, and I can think of only one mistake by one of our wide receivers. Henne had a very poor performance excluding the brilliant throw for the touchdown. I am tired of people blaming the wide recievers for Henne's failures. There is no doubt that Ireland needs to improve the wide receiver position, but they were not the problem in this game.

Henne's meltdown is a good thing for his development, but it was painful to watch. He completely abandoned his mechanics under pressure. That is common with inexperienced QBs. I am curious to see how he responds. I am hoping he fixes the plethora of minor mechanics issues that are holding down his completion percentage during the upcoming offseason. If he can, then he will be well on his way to being a top 15 QB. If he does not, then we will continue to have problems regardless of any improvements to the wide receiver position.

This kid needs a WR. Until then, he's doing great in my book.
