In joining the overwhelming pity party that has become the Miami Dolphin fan base/community, I have come across a fact that seems fairly unreasonable considering how the Dolphins are often referred to as a “storied†franchise. By no means do I believe myself to have been a diehard fan as some of you are, but have nonetheless been an ardent supporter of this team for 21 years. The first game I ever really had any real concern regarding pro football was the game against Chicago in ‘85, Miami as the good guys and the Bears as the bad guys, trying to butt-in to Miami’s perfect season. Since then, like many of you, I have thrown temper tantrums, broken countless remotes, embarrassed myself to no end, and even cried with the seemingly inevitable futility that encompasses every year in support of the Miami Dolphins. Sure, there have been a lot of great moments, but this was a team that had been to the Super Bowl five times before I came onboard as a fan – over a 20-year span. In my 21 years, we of course have not reached the Super Bowl… whereas 20 other teams have at least reached it once in that time. If we add Conference Championship games (’86, ’93), all but the perpetually awful of the NFL (Cards, Lions, Texans, and Saints – which may change this year) has been there at least once as well. Steve Young said something a number of years back that resonates ever so clear with this franchise for what it has become – he suggested something to the effect of the Dolphins being mired in “serial mediocrity†for years, and this before our ascension into the laughing stock of the NFL. Like many of you, in this search for answers as to why the Gods have allowed us to suck for so long and had such awful misfortune bestowed upon us, I am just hoping to see the day when I can come on to this board and see diatribes based on who sucks more: the Bills, Patriots, or Jets. Until that day, I really hope the next phase of reconstruction actually gets us somewhere. Scott Pioli, Wayne… Scott Pioli…

I dont think he will be coming here. First I dont see how the Pats will let him go. Then if you saw Wayne's press conference yesterday you remember what he said when asked about a strong GM...

Pioli is going to go to the G-Men.
