"You wanted the ball thrown," Wannstedt told reporters. "You got the ball thrown."

Wannstedt said that even without Ricky Williams, he does not want the Dolphins to be a passing team, because that won't give them a chance to win.

"Well, we're trying  I mean, I don't believe in throwing the ball  we have to run the ball in order to win," Wannstedt said. "I think we had 19 or 20 carries today."

Miami rushed 20 times for 65 yards.

:shakeno: He is going to use this games failure as an excuse to run Gordon to death for the rest of the season.. I guess he didnt take into account that he had the Poorest passer starting the first half? Had the superior passer been in from the beginning, the passing plan may have been more successful..

Why is it so confusing? He wants balance. He was shoving it in the face of ignorant reporters that write that if only we open up the offense, we will win. Well, we opened it up didn't we? 31 passes in the 2nd half.

He was politely telling the reporters to STFU and just report the news.

I understand your point but ANYONE knows that JAY FIEDLER does NOT give you the best chance to win in a pass-happy gameplan.. So if that was his gameplan, why go with Fiedler? Looks like Wanne was a little confused..

I've never seen Wanny this bad I think he's going to have a meltdown. I think his job being on the line has gotten to him. His boy Feidler made him look like an *** and he knows it. I hope Wanny can get it toghether because I don't think this season needs to be a waist I see alot of potential. I wasn't impressed with the coordinator not one throw down feild? You throw short to move the chains but every now and then maybe 3-5 times a game you got to try to push it down the feild. I'm really concerned about Wanny if we don't get a couple of wins soon he is going to implode and the rest of the season is going to stink. Please Wanny don't give up !!!!!!!!! He's not the greatest coach but he's better then what he showed yesterday.

So basically we're gonna run the ball until the other team puts up some points, THEN try and recover by throwing it. By then it will be too late! I think that the interceptions will weigh on his decision to run more leaving NO balance in the offense but I do believe that they will launch 1 or 2 long passes against Cincinnati this week

Unbelievable. This guy kills me. Run, run, run. Even with Ricky that didn't work for TWO YEARS!! Now without Ricky he thinks that how we will win!?!? As for the comment above- this has nothing to do with BALANCE! As you should have read, this is Dave notion that you can only win when you run the ball. Totally ignorant. The season is over.

The talent on this team is in the passing game. We can throw the ball to Chambers, Booker, and McMichael. Maybe we should be a little more balanced than we were against the Titans, but our best chance of scoring and winning games is to throw, so that is what we need to do. Running the ball up the middle for 2 yards every play is not going to win us games.

Passing more is not opening up the offense. Opening up the offense means attacking the entire field. Miami can run a wide open offense while maintaining balance in the passing and running games.

Want to open up the offense? Don't throw the ball 40 times. Attempt to pass the ball to the receivers farther than 10 yards down the field.

When you rush the ball 20 times and only gain 65 yards you better throw the damn ball.........

Think Tennessee thought that. At one point, they had 48 yards rushing on 15 rushing attempts. That's barely over 3 yards per carry. Then, boom. A 52 yard run pushes that total to 100 yards.

It was the gameplan in the 2nd half. Fiedler only attempted 13 passes.

I agree. Our Weapons on offense of what you said and our RB's had 8 catches out of the backfield and we still got Donald Lee who can move the chains too.

Miami could have a good enough passing game to open up holes on draws and delay hand-offs to make the Running game that much more productive.I expect more from this team next week @ Cinncy.

Wanny is right in this case.....You need to have a semblance of a running game.....

Look at the best passing games last year and then look at those team's rushing attacks......

They have one thing in common.....they all had really good running games.....
