Is there a real chance that Miami can sign this guy? He is a beast that can play LB and DL. I think he needs to be a free agent focus.

I know, but he's going to come with a HUGE pricetag. Miami has many glaring needs, more so on the other side of the ball, but this kid can really solidify a tough front seven.

Will probably cost too much, how about we build through the draft? (like most GOOD teams do)

Most successful teams have a good mix. I have no problem with Miami building through the draft, but this guy is a defense changing player. There is an argument to signing a sure thing as opposed to drafting potential and upside.

i doubt it, i dont think that we have the cap room to be able to sign someone for the money he will likely command and probably recieve from teams like the 49ers who have way more cap room than us and more desperate for a player like him.

i think it will be a hard chance based on the fact that we dont have much of a cap room, and a team like the giants have 20 million to spend and im sure there are a few others out there with 20+ to spend. :dolphins:

i think our defense is good just draft a couple of defensive players, i think we have the talent here to win. it just needs the right offensive mind.

This guy has, at 6'4" 260 or so, also played gunner and excelled at it! There's nothing this guy can't do. I can't understand why we didn't sign him when he was a FA and not commanding top-dollar. Oh yeah we had Wanny, Spielman, and the rest of the guys who can't evaluate talent running our team.

But they have another chance. They can't blow this one.

His pricetag really won't be that much. Check out this article here.

That article seems to think he'll only need a 3 yr, $15 million deal....thats very reasonable

now whether or not the Fins can afford him remains to be seen...but it wont be a contract like Arrington got from the Giants a year ago, I promise you that

I think we only have a shot at one big name f/A, so we'll need to decide whether it will be CB or LB. I see Thomas and Briggs commanding BIG money. But so will the top CB's. The next question is, if we don't get the one position, can we get someone in the draft to fill that spot? It appears that there are more top quality LB's out there than CB's. Perhaps getting one of the top CB's in F/A and going after a LB in the 2nd or 3rd round is the best option? Could go the other way too, if we thing a quality CB would drop to us in the 2nd, but probably less likely than LB. Either way, it's obvious we don't have the $$$ to go after both. I also find it ironic that the great LB we all wanted so bad last year (Arrington) just got cut by the Giants because of his injury.

I would absolutely love to have Adalius Thomas on the Dolphins. He would make our already good defense into a great one, imho. Did any of you see him in the Pro Bowl? I've seen him play before, but damn he just looked like a monster out there, a body like his should not have the speed he has. He is a freak & we sure as heck could use him.

It would be great if we could get Thomas for a reasonable price.
But another team could outbid us for his services.

He offers an immediate upgrade and positive impact to the defense. I feel they should battle hard for him.
