Just wanted to get some thoughts from all my Finheaven friends. It seems like EVERY week, we, or for that matter, fans of almost every team, are getting all pizzed off about some bad call by the zebras. I have a thought on how to stop SOME of it. First....how about just one foot in bounds to be a good catch. That would get rid of A LOT of review time killing the games flow. Second, and I have thought this way before last week...get rid of the illegal batting. Kicking, fine. But to try to determine if a player is batting the ball away (sorry, but I think that is what happened sunday) or if he is trying to pull it in, that is pure judgment by the official in most cases....now kicking is another story... hard to not see that, like the Chargers earlier this season..... Damn that "Holy Roller" by the Raiders!! And as far as the safety issue is concerned, why not get rid of the "down by contact" rule. Make the game like college, if you hit the ground, you are down. That would stop players from "spearing" guys already on the ground. And how about if we make these guys actually TACKLE. It seems like all these guys want to do anymore is bury a shoulder into the ball carrier, instead of wrapping up and actually tackling. That would get rid of most of the hits to the head. If you are actually trying to tackle someone, you extend your arms and wrap them up. kind of hard to go helmet to helmet that way......also better than "blowin up some ACLs" because you can't go high anymore. The penalty could "launching" 15 yards. As far as the "hand fighting" that goes on between DBs and WRs...I say have at it,no penalty, unless the WR actually is redirected by the contact... but I guess that one would still be left to some judgment by the zebras. Just my .02....so, how about you all...what are some of your ideas to make the game better??

Make every play reviewable, even penalties.

Problem solved.

With how long they take to review ****, games would be 8 hours long. I do wish they could review all those questionable plays, they would just need to find a more efficient way to do it.

I like how hockey has a bunch of officials in NY reviewing all calls and buzzing in if the guys got it wrong on the ice...I would be ok with something like that.

Yeah that would be cool. Like a centralized "command center" for Refs. Would definitely speed things up and allow them to review more plays.

Coaches have a finite amount of challenges. If they are throwing it out every play, then they will eventually get them wrong and be out of challenges.

The whole system is in need of an overhaul. Think about it, the TV announcers usually know if the call will be upheld or overturned within seconds of the play sometimes and almost always before they go to commercial, there should be no need to take a mandatory 3 minutes for every challenge. Also, its easy to see this system will evolve into an official in the booth gaining more power over everything including penalties so just go ahead and do it now.

Another thing I would like to see to speed up the game is always place the ball on a 1 yard hash (or maybe 1/2 yard hash), treat each hash mark like the goal line in that the last one you cross is where the ball gets placed. This gets rid of wasting time measuring and 3rd and inches BS (like an inch or a foot makes a difference) and makes it a little easier on the officials.

If you haven't noticed, the NFL will take every opportunity to shove some more ads (more money for them) in your face. The most egregious case of this is when they take a "TV Time out" after a kickoff/punt. Infuriating sometimes...

You want to stop the garbage calls that go to the Patriots? Find a coach to stand up in the news conference after the game and accuse the refs of being crooked and suggest the game was fixed. Have him point out the specific plays where their bad calls changed the game. He'll have to live with a half million dollar fine and a year long suspension, but the firestorm of bad press, the pressure out of Las Vegas, and the very public congressional investigations with their legal discovery into every nook and crany of the NFL's business would cause Goodell to end the practice immediately.
