If the Miami Dolphins of 2005 are ever going to get on a roll, it HAS to start this week in Cleveland -- a team we should be able to handle.
If we lose this game, then I really must insist that the veterans not named JT or ZT are not the answer and we'd be better off getting younger across the board.
But I digress...
Anyhow, looking at this match-up, the first thing that sticks out to me is that both Cleveland guards could miss this game -- Andruzzi and Coleman. Add to that, LT L.J. Shelton is no longer very good, and it tells me our front seven could really abuse their protections and disrupt their run blocking.

The essay above states that the passing game is losing confidence in Northcutt and Bryant, and it may start looking toward Braylon Edwards this week. I do hope the Dolphins are aware and not overlooking him by sticking Howard or someone on him.
They're also transitioning to more and more 3-4 looks on defense, and do not have the personnel to make it work. Their run defense is not very good, so we should expect another 35-40 carry week from R&R. Not forced, either, but because it will WORK.
Two hard-fought home defeats had better have Miami really angry and hungry. If they come out flat, or dumb (penalties) against this very beatable opponent (especially on defense), I'm through with listening to the excuses about the veterans. Saban should know what he has by now, and they have to produce in this spot at least. The '96 Jaguars started 3-6, and they won out until the AFC Championship game.
This is a team (quarterbacked by Trent Dilfer!!) that we CAN and need to beat up on and build a lot of confidence against. Otherwise, we're not making progress. I don't want another 10-7 victory with a field goal in the last minute (last year's horrendous encounter). I really expect a two-touchdown victory and a physical beating handed out on the road.
Anyone who still dismisses another lackluster effort this week with "Relax, it can't happen overnight" needs to really toughen up. There are no excuses this week. If we can't beat the Cleveland Browns, we're no better than the Cleveland Browns. And I really think we ARE better, and need to show it.
If that's not the case, then in the famous words of Todd Bertuzzi: "It is what it is."
