As a true blue Mountaineer, I have watched him for 4 years. He is one tough competitor first and foremost. Never saw him give less than 100% effort. He is the most talented athlete I have ever seen in a WV uniform. I have never heard him quoted with anything close to individual pride in any of his countless amazing plays and accomplishments in four years, mostly he talks of "team effort" and gives all the credit to "coaching." A favorite of mine was after the Meineke bowl last year when asked what his favorite play he made (there were many) of the day was, Pat's answer, "the kneel down at the end." Another quote I find telling of his character was not his but his head coach, Bill Stewart's, "I want my son to grow up to be like Pat White, the man, not the football player." I was at the Meineke bowl and sat just above the UNC band in the end zone that all WVU's touchdown's were in. It was his 2nd or 3rd TD pass when the pressure was in his face and he threw a perfect pass over the middle on the money and I was looking straight into his face mask when he made that throw and he did not bat an eye I tell you he had icewater in his veins. IMHO the Dolphins just drafted a future sensation.

This is an awesome post. Thanks.

as someone who hates wvu, i'm glad i can finally root for pat white, he's money!

I was at the Meineke bowl also. Pat White and Hakeem Nicks put on quite a show.

Wish we could've gotten both of them.

I know! That behind his butt catch was sick! The DB didn't even know he had the ball!

Good post. All of the "What will we do with Pat White" questions are amusing.

This year, no doubt he'll play some wildcat. But he will simultaneously get up to speed as a QB.

But CP's contract us up after this year. We are going to be needing a QB if CP does indeed leave (and given the Trifectas appearent aversion to older players, I would not be shocked if CP is allowed to leave).

The wildcat is a great way to help "juice" our current offense as well as give Pat White some valuable game time experience.

But if going into 2010, if Henne is the starter and PW is the backup, I think most could live with that.

I CANNOT wait until I see him on the field, and I know that his first NFL td is going to feel so good not only to him, but to all his supporters and doubters.
