A+++

Well, to be honest as far as WR is concerned there is still a bit that can happen in Free Agency before camp. Still an outside chance that somebody may get dumped that could be a solid number 3 in the slot and contribute big. Slim but possible.

Nick upgraded the Offensive Line with Coaching, McDougle, and putting some players in thier proper position, rather than Dave's "we'll play the best 5 Lineman, even if that means they play out of their strength position".. We do need depth at WR, I love Booker and Chambers, but we certainly need a 3rd or 4th WR.. but, this is just the first year and I know we don't need EVERYTHING this draft.. McMichael is a great TE and will sure up his drops with Saban being the coach alone, if not, he's on the bench, and I have faith Randy would rather be on the field.. and What can we say about Ronnie Brown with Gordon backing him up? Ronnie is so versatile and will be exciting to watch, so I agree with Jim Bates, we are close on offense and we have another Free Agency period/Draft next year to fill in any open holes, but we WERE getting old on Defense and with Will Poole, Roth, and Crowder, we're quickly becoming young and AGGRESSIVE!!!! Definetely an A draft for Nick.

Now nab Elton Brown in the top of the 4th and Wilkerson in the 5th and you have a dream draft.

I thought Elton Brown was rated the best guard in the draft. What happened?

In the 4th, I'd like to see us grab a center or McPherson. Center out of need (desperate need) and McPherson out of selfishnes.

Never did I think we could pick up another 1st round D-Line prospect and Channing who dominated in the 2 years he played in the SEC.. remember this kid is only 21 also so he could be around a long time if he knees hold up... GreenMonster

If Crowder stays healthy, our defense is just going to be SICK. A LB core of Zach, Junior, Crowder, and Spragan/Roth, with Carter, Bowens/Chester, and Holliday as the DE's

Monster! Sabans highest priorities are to run and hurt people and stop the run and hurt people. Monster!

I'm beginning to think McPherson could fall to the late 5th.

Here's something to help put this all in perspective...

Scout Inc. has our picks rated as:

Ronnie Brown - 98
Matt Roth - 91
Channing Crowder - 90

Wow..

Did you hear Sabans interview where he said that when LSU played Auburn Ronnie Brown would send half the defense to the training room. He is a mauler!!! Then you add a borderline PSYCHOTIC DE, that could have/should have gone in the first, and I was in love with the Saban era. Then to top that off we get a guy that is 6'2 252 lbs and can absolutely dominate from his LB position. With out the injury concerns he is easily a 1st round pick.... Nick Saban is my HERO!!!!

Yeah, the June 1st cuts may yield a good #3 WR, or the Redskins are still having trouble with Rod Gardner who has asked for a trade. Maybe offer the Redskins a fourth round 2006 pick? They have already traded a couple away to the Broncos in 2006 and could get a pick while getting rid of a problem WR.

There will be questions on offense of course. Can AJ Feeley step up and be consistent? Can Houk turn the OL around? But with Brown and a solid #3 WR the offense would be set if Feeley/the OL work out.

B....So far all we have done is acquire defense....and one potentially great running back. If the O-line and receiver corp isn't improved...we haven't done much...since it was the offense that lost us games last season.
