Call me crazy but can anyone else see this scenario happening.

Brees Signs with NO which will cause A. Brooks to be released.
Culpepper is traded to OAK.
Brooks signs with MIA and is reunited with Randy Mueller who drafter him in the first place. Call me crazy but I actually would love this to happen for the following reasons. 1-Brooks is healthy and you know what you are getting. 2- I think he is vastly underrated. He has had no offensine line in NO and he has a very strong arm which would fit well in our Offensive scheme! Thoughts???

Yeah that works i just hope someone decent is hired tommorow when i come back from school we better have a new QB !! lol :dolphins::dolphins::dolphins:

If Brees and Culpepper were gone, id be pretty upset. i really want culpepper, ill be upset if we get Brees a little bit. but if they are both gone i would take Aaron Brooks over anyone else (over ramsey, mccown, collins, frerotte). i believe aaron has the skills to be as good as anyone else, and ig he reduced his mistakes hed be a GREAT quarterback. Bu thats a big if, and i have no reason to believe Aaron Brooks will ever stop his boneheaded plays.

We have a Aaron Brooks on the team and his name is Cleo Lemon. Saban would not of traded for him if he did not see something. By the way, Drew Brees is the future of Miami.

I can't wait for all the knowledgeable posts to follow.

Here's a preview....

He sucks!!

He Stink's!!

What a bum!!!

He's dumb!! No thanks.

What's he ever done in NO??? Nuthin!!!

Meanwhile here's what he's done in NO since 2001:

After five seasons in New Orleans (2000-04), Brooks ranks second in club history in every major passing category - including yards (16,274), attempts (2,340), completions (1,323) and touchdowns (107) - and first with an 81.5 passer rating. He has emerged as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks since 2001, with 98 touchdown tosses over that span and over 3,500 yards each season. Brooks has thrown for over 250 yards in a team-record 28 regular season games, and in 30 contests including the playoffs. In 2004, he completed 309-of-542 attempts for 3,810 yards, with 21 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. It was the fourth straight season where he had over 20 touchdown passes and over 3,500 passing yards, with both streaks signifying the best in Saints record books. Since arriving in New Orleans, he has emerged as one of the NFL's top comeback artists by engineering 16 game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime, including five in 2004. Brooks took over as the team leader in 2000 in relief of injured starter Jeff Blake in Week 11 (vs. Oakland, 11/19/00), started the following week and has not missed the opening snap since. Brooks has played in 72 regular-season games with the Saints, including starting the last 69 contests. His 441 passing yards vs. Denver (12/3/00) is the highest single-game total in franchise history, and Brooks is also the only Saints quarterback to rush for over 100 yards in a contest (108 vs. San Francisco, 12/10/00). Last season vs. the Broncos (11/21/04), Brooks set club marks for attempts (60) and completions (34) in a contest.

But I'm sure reading it won't help.

I actually would compare Cleo Lemon to Aaron Brooks if it had to be anyone. But Cleo might not make the stupid idiot plays.

Mueller didn't draft Aaron Brooks. Ron Wolf of Green Bay did.

Brooks is getting released anyways. There is a reason. HE SUCKS. Why do people start Aaron Brooks threads everyday? :shakeno:

Brooks has a cannon for an arm. He throws some laser balls. His stats are very impressive, I am sorry, but NO is just one of those bad situations in football, and it can be difficult for anyone to find out. I think the one argument you could make for Brooks, is that he is similar in a way to Kordell Stewart, nowhere near the runner that Stewart was, but definately a much better arm, and Stewart had his best season under Mike Mularkey. So I think Mularkey can make Brooks even better than he has been thus far. Trust me, Miami would be a huge breath of fresh air after you've spent most of your career in NO.

Yep, an ok player but nothing great. No thanks

Let him battle it out with Gus.
Better than paying $10 Million a year for a QB with a surgically repaired right shoulder.
Better than paying (and trading a pick) for a QB whose knee is wrecked and fumbles more than throws TDs w/o Moss and will probably take atleast 1 year to rehab his knee with THREE torn ligaments.

When did Brees or Culpepper ever become "great"? That is a term reserved for the likes of Montana, Marino, Elway, etc...Guys who've atleast been to the Super Bowl.

While I agree that neither is great, a QB doesn't necessarily have to go to the Super Bowl to be considered great. Do you think Peyton Manning isn't considered great?

Just pointing that out.

In all, I don't think this team really needs a 'great' QB. We just need someone to be accurate and consistent.
