i hope many of you agree with me here, but do you guys remember when he kept slipping and slipping and then eventually the packers picked him with the 24th pick? Did you guys ever wonder why we didnt trade up to get him? I mean it would have probably cost us our 2nd pick last year and a 1st this year (matt roth) but why didnt we even consider this? Rodgers would have been our qb of the future and we wouldnt have worried about drafting a qb this year...am i right? i mean I still believe he 2005 draft will be one of the best drafts the dolphins have ever put together..but what if we had rodgers..wow...lemme know guys what you think:dolphins:

I've wondered this myself. Rodgers wasn't that far from being number one overall, in fact most people had him rated there until the few weeks before the draft when Smith suddenly overtook him. I still stand by my statement that last years draft lacked a true no. 1 overall QB., and maybe Rodgers wasn't worth trading a boatload to get him.

i was screaming at the television..thinking we could get a future qb and future rb in the same shot..wow...but o well..im happy with how the draft happened...

I would have liked to have Rogers, even though I'm not sold on him as a franchise savior I think he has the potential. However, In the past we have gotten into lots of trouble trading away our picks. I am happy that we have all our picks (5th rounder = Manny) for this year's draft.

We didn't need to trade up to get him we picked 2nd overall. As far as i'm concerned Aaron Rodgers slipped that far for a reason so i'm not really losing any sleep over why we didn't get him.

IMO they must not have been very high on him. Also, knowing that we have a boat load of holes to fill, filling one wasn't as big of priority. I wonder if thinking that we were not going to be a very good team this year made them think that they would have a good shot at getting a big time prospect this years. Face it guys the AFC East is not what it was so pose to be.

I wasn't too surprised that he slipped because in this year's draft, he could've placed in the 3rd round. One thing that concerns me is that he's a Tedford coached QB. They never do well in the NFL because of the system that Tedford uses, which is dumbed down with simple plays, etc. Case in point: Carr, Feeley, Akili Smith, Harrington, etc. Might've been nice to pick him up but not at the expense of getting Ronnie Brown.

dunno about that baltimore was the only team that really needed a qb after arizona's pick...he slipped because teams didnt need him...happens all the time

I think that our best chance for a QB will be in this year's draft, hopefully someone like Jay Cutler will fall to the Dolphins, but my pick for the next Dolphins quaterback may seem strange to some. What I purpose is for the Dolphins to draft a QB in the 1st round (no big surprise), but then use some of the caproom they've got and maybe trade some picks to get Brett Favre from them Packers, who can still play and would be a great tutor for the young QB that is drafted. I mean Favre is on his way out of Green Bay and they want to rebuild and he says he wants to play another couple of years and he says he knows the Packers are moving on without him. I mean if we can get Favre for some draft picks (nothing crazy) that would be a great deal because this team isn't that far from the playoffs, and please don't tell me any of you want Gus Frerotte playing and tutoring a young QB for a couple of years. Yes, I know that the team as a whole especially the defense needs improvement through the draft and such but just think what kind of excitement the fans and the Dolphins players would get from having Brett Favre on their team and a young QB waiting in the wings behind him. It would bring more free agents to miami because they could see Miami being successful in the near future and us the fans would be very happy as well. More than likely Nick will horde his draft picks and probably pick well and will not pursue Favre, which is fine, but I just wanted to see what people think of my idea and I'm eagerly awaiting to hear all the flaws people find in it.

i would have traded this year's pick for rodgers...guy was suppose to be pick # 1 for awhile leading up to the draft..

Just because Ronnie Brown was the better pick for us at number 2 doesn't mean Rodgers wasn't worth trading for (in hindsight he probably wasn't but at the time he looked great). He fell incredibly far and it wouldn't have been unprecedented for a team like us to trade up and get him. Look at Buffalo 2 years ago, they traded up to get Losman after they picked Evans. Evans was the better pick earlier but they still wanted Losman. We could have pulled a similar deal.

theres gonna be alot of qb's in the market this year..aaron brooks, kerry collins, and maybe favre..maybe we can resurrect one of these qb's like denver did with plummer
