hi, i dont know where exactly to put this post so im sorry. but i live in Long Island NY and i am planning on going to flying to phins stadium this year against the jets. i just have a couple of questions. does anyone know the best and cheapest airport to land at thats close to the stadium? Is it needed to rent a car? does anyone know when i can find the best deals for flights exactly.

I fly down from Virginia for 5 or 6 games a year. We fly into Fort Lauderdale (FLL). That airport is only about 20 minutes or so from the stadium. We always rent a car and the rental center at FLL is great. The Miami airport and car rental center are a nightmare.

You might want to check out JetBlue for pretty decent airfare. They probably have a direct flight from New York to FLL.

FLL is definitely the better airport (money, convenience). Rental cars aren't that expensive either. As far as flights go, those are hit or miss. From now until September who knows what the economy will look like. Airfare might be a lot cheaper or a hell of a lot more pricey then it is now.

Personally I'd book ahead of time just to get it out of the way.

Depending on which airport you're flying from you can probably find a pretty good fare on US Airways because they always fly through Laguardia airport and have many connecting and non stop flights. Sometimes connections are the answer and can be much cheaper than non stop airfare. Also look if you can get a one way ticket on one airline and a one way ticket back on another because you could find some great prices that way as well.

Fort Lauderdale is definitely the place to fly in to. I would check out sidestep.com for flights.

Ahh, you are using a Sonic Youth 'Dirty' album cover as an avatar. Love it - especially "100%".

To OP... ask around as it seems Jets fans show up like ****aroaches at the games. Okay, I'll be nice, check with a travel agent for the best of the best.

You have to fly into FLL. It's much cheaper to fly into Lauderdale than Miami. Try Allegiant Air. It's pretty cheap for me to fly Allegiant Air. But I don't know what it'll cost you to fly out of your nearest airport. The stadium is only a short drive from the airport and a rental car will be needed unless you just want to hop a cab. Be prepared to spend $25 for parking at the stadium as well.

depending how far out on LI you are... Macarthur flies southwest direct to FLL if thats easier for you...
